yes, of course. I never said, that the conversion rate is good. on the other hand, the 800 mb steam would convert to 400 eu. and since some GT-machines have a tendency to vanish (together with the surrounding blocks), if they get to many EU... and the steam supply would solve that :)

the big issue with nuclear energy is: with the recent changes in the pack, it's not equally easy to set up such a reactor. the reactor planner is not yet updated. I'd say, add extra cooling and a thermal monitor that shuts of the reactor in case of overheating.

basically yes but he added a way to change IC2 machines into their automated gregtech-versions (which accept those covers) and by the way, you can even power machines directly with steam. so, set up a boiler, connect everything with liquiducts and run the machines on steam.

it is endgame, if you just look at buildcraft as standalone mod. there is virtually no need in buildcraft for such an amount of ressources. in ftb, it gives plenty of ores which can be used in other mods.
