    Looting enchantment woes

False. Quit posting misleading statements. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/File:Enchant_Probabilities_1.4.6.zip Open Excel document. Go to "Pivot Table" tab, up top change to "Book". Fortune III the sweet spot is LV 30. Pretty much all of the top-tier GOOD stuff on Books is only...

Server hardware discussion. Any server Owner Must Read !

I'm just saying, the performance difference between SSD/HDD is making much ado about nothing, when compared to a Ramdisk. You're comparing a Tortoise (HDD) to a Ford Fiesta (SSD). In this comparison, the Ramdisk is an F-16 Fighter Jet. Meanwhile.... Really??? It's going to exceed 1GB...

Server hardware discussion. Any server Owner Must Read !

Really, Hard Drive vs SSD means jack squat. If you're a competent server owner you'll set it up on Linux and configure a 2-3GB Ramdisk (RAM is cheap, unless you're on a VPS/Dedicated). Then configure a mod for automated back-ups every 15 minutes, so that if there's a crash, at most your users...

    Gravisuite v1.7 Update Discussion

I wonder how many people complaining are on Direwolf20 pack. This just adds competition to Modular Power Suits. Yeah, it does upset the balance for Mindcrack pack, a little. Should've made the bottom plates on the jetpack wings Iridium Plates. So 4 total. Or replaced the Glass Fiber cable...

    Aqueous Accumulator

That's just one example. There's other scenarios that can go wrong. Where's that thread about water source blocks randomly disappearing?

    Aqueous Accumulator

If, say, you decided to use 2 accumulators in case of chunk loading errors. Probably best to have 2 on opposite ends, with separate water tiles, both connected to the same pipe system. Pumping faster is nice, since then even if there's a double-glitch, the water will get there faster so you...

    Aqueous Accumulator

Tip: Use Gold Waterproof Pipe on the Aqueous Accumulator. It will pump the water faster. (noticable for filling buckets with Liquid Transposers).

In your opinion: BuildCraft of Redpower

There isn't any superior system yet in the debate of BC vs RP2. BC still has advantages in that it's FAR easier to get early-game, and it's quicker to set-up, moderately complex machines. I like it for my dumb automated ore-processing systems. It is kinda clumsy to make them compact, since you...

    REALLY teed off right now.

You could possibly change your world seed and then set the Thaumcraft config to regenerate all Aura Nodes (I assume it deletes the old ones?). Then change your seed back before exploring (so it doesn't mess with terrain gen). I'd back up your folder first.

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

Yeah, but nothing beats chopping up a Zombie with a Chainsaw. I wish there were sound effects (not really, that would get boring quickly).

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

Of course. All of Minecraft is about preference. I will say, the MPS Multi-Tool is probably just as good as the IC2 tools . But the tools are pretty good in their own right (the Chainsaw is a pretty darn good weapon.... and you can shift+right-click to use it as a Shears for wool... little...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

IC2 Benefits: -Construction Foam..... moderately cheap creeper-proof building block in the game (all you need is redstone, coal dust, and clay).... the other option is Xychoridite Plates (warded stone is pretty expensive... and can still be broken by a Vajra).... contrary to popular belief...

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

Grav Suit + Ultimate Hybrid Solar Helmet + Vajra + Mining Laser >>>>>>>> Any Modular Power Suit Build If you're going for ultimate god mode, nothing beats good 'ole IC2 (throw in Quantum Leggings for Super Speed and Quantum Boots for fall damage / super jump). Ultimate Hybrid Solar Helmet can...

    Best food source?

Remember that there's not only Hunger Points (20), but also a hidden Saturation Value (20). Remember, saturation is like "bonus hunger", as it decreases FIRST before hunger disappears. Meat is the best vanilla item, as it restores 12 Hunger Points and 12 Saturation. I use a Soul Shards...

    Two quick questions

Yeah, the chest + autarchic gate does work. But it doesn't pump nearly as fast as dropping an entire stack directly into the Obisidian Pipe.
  17. J

In your next Direwolf20 build, will you bother with IC2?

GregTech-less IC2 is still good for UU Matter and Solar Power (argue it or not, Compact Solars is still an IC2 add-on). A couple of MV Compact Solars and a fully-scrapped Mass Fabricator can give Equivalent Exchange a run for its money. Also, before they nerfed it, the Quantum Helmet was...

    Two quick questions

You can make a similar device with an Obsidian Pipe with a Void Pipe on top of it. I call it a "Trash Can". I keep 1 or 2 in my base. You just hit the drop key 'Q', in front of the Obsidian Pipe and it will suck up the item and send it to the void pipe. No power is needed on the Obsidian...

    Need more Mj storage.

Huh? The compost / fertilizer in a ferment last a defined amount of work cycles (200). What I don't know is if Plantballs and Sugar Canes take the same amount of work cycles or not (is there an efficiency gain for using plantballs). http://ftbwiki.org/Fermenter...

    Need more Mj storage.

You can technically just put the raw sugar cane into the Fermenter. But I think making plantballs saves compost and MJ. You need 8 sugar canes to make 1 plantball. Sugar Canes give an efficiency of 0.2 in the Fermenter. Plantballs give 0.8.
