Just because item/block IDs are now gone, does not mean BIOME/DIM IDs and other common config settings have gone away. I am pretty sure they still have global configs ready and waiting for them hidden away somewhere. And keep up the great work! I look forward to what the FTB Team prepares for...

Not sure if Forge has an options, or any of the mods, but there might be a command to force the chunk to reload/restore. I know on bukkit servers, with Towny I could restore chunks to the original seeded chunk.

CoreProtect is a Bukkit plugin, not a Forge mod. In order to use it alongside the DW20 pack, you would need a Forge/MCPC+/Bukkit combination, and even then there is a chance it will not work.

Honestly looks like a TCP/IP connection is being either dropped/blocked.... ----- Update: found a post using google suggesting updating Forge, when people had the same error.

What pack are you running? Do you have MCPC+/Bukkit installed too?

May seem like a silly question, but have you tried rebooting the server...?

The DW20 pack should come with Reis already on it.... If you for some reason do not have it, either one will work.

If the changes aren not being saved, it could be the chmod on the files is wrong on the server? So minecraft isn't able to write to the files. Might want to check that.

Forge Essentials, I believe, needs a full server restart for changes to be in effect. I could be wrong, though.

Not sure with LogBlock, but usually adding custom itemIDs would be in the mod/plugins config file.

The only way to use Bukkit with FTB is to use MCPC+ to make Forge/Bukkit play nicely together, though it is still new and is a bit buggy. As I am switching away from it currently, I can tell you (This is a bukkit plugin so you need MCPC+) SecureChests is the only chest locking plugin I could...
