FTB Horizons - General Feedback Thread

It's not overly common at the best of times. I appreciate that you don't want to make things too easy, but I would strongly recommend that you turn on the TE steel recipe. They'll still have to make an induction smelter to use it. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

What the heck is a Frienderman? ::EDIT:: Apparently it followed me home over a km and has decided to live with me o.O

Why don't people like IC2 anymore?

But then, my cutting wit and razor-sharp logic net me more likes! On a more serious note, that's what makes it a "discussion forum" with a "reply button"; debate is how we exchange our opinions here, and I feel that in the long run, although you may need to slog through some...

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

There's a reason they say "boil it first". That being said, I love fresh stream water for my tea. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

Oh, I so hear you, on both counts. I just wanted to know what you were meaning, being that your posts are typically full of the good stuff. That, and the omission of one word really did make that kind of word salad, so it seemed an appropriate response. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

That's not actually such a bad idea; kind of an inverse diamonds to dirt. You could also set an option to convert ingots, dust, coal etc in recipes to blocks. Not that I'd likely ever play it but it'd be a great and fairly universally-applicable mod for those who want to seriously extend their...

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

Get into bee/tree breeding once the bugs with Binnie's Mods are sorted out, and don't use wikis or NEI to do it. That's how I kept myself busy for the last couple months we played Unleashed. If anything, I think the ready availability of guides, wikis, videos and mod cheat sheets is the bigger...

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

I had hoped it would be obvious that "5 minutes" was facetious hyperbole; but to clarify, it was facetious hyperbole. That being said, with a bit of luck I'm usually in the nether between 30m-1h if I want to be, in a full suit of iron armour. It doesn't actually take that long to either find...

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

Even in Vanilla, I can get into the nether in about five minutes, it's hardly a thing anymore. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Which, it is worth noting: is identical in charcoal cost to the Railcraft recipe, and double in coal cost. The only savings is time, and you don't get creosote as a byproduct. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

That I will totally grant you, I have one player who is terrible for this. I call him a power gamer without a cause. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Why don't people like IC2 anymore?

I actually feel that TE adds relatively little when it comes to resource processing, on a standalone basis; that sort of addition is minor at best, TBH. What TE really brings to the standalone game, in my opinion, is transport options.

They have their issues, but I still find the laser is unmatched at certain tasks; rapidly flattening an area by hand, picking off very distant blocks, shotgunning the remains of redwood leaves =P Ghast sniping too, often enough. It's limited in a lot of ways, but I have yet to see its...

You're missing Clear Modifiers at the end; it's also very hard to completely eliminate instability, at present. I'd pull Villages, Ravines and Caves completely, and add a negative surface modifier since in theory you'll always be underground anyway. But yeah, you totally need Clear Modifiers...

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

Just FYI, FTB has nothing to do with the development of the mods and whether they are still supporting a 1.5 pack or not - which they are - you can put precisely 0% of the blame on them if you can't get 1.6 features in a 1.5 pack. Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk

Is Ore processing and sorting disappearing?

I'm sorry, but you totally destroyed your own point right here. Have you noticed, no offense to the team, how long it's taking them to release a single stable version of their flagship pack? FTB attempts to release a pack that will fulfill the needs of the majority. You are then welcome to...

Why don't people like IC2 anymore?

For me, the problem is purely with the number of steps involved. Each extra step in creating something increases my "blah" level, regardless of the actual time investment. Once I have the materials in hand, I want my "cool thing" - components are not cool. They are deliberately-introduced...
