it is an ender tot from dartcraft and im guessing by 1.2.5 beta pack you meant 1.5.2 beta pack which is the only mod pack to normally contain dartcraftyou can disable them in the dartcraft config file by setting their spawn rate to 0 in the entities tab

you could build xycraft multiblock tank they are alot cheaper as they can use almost any block and can go to 11x11

You could have them dropping down a block every so often to reduce the distance they go back or you could use minecarts to transport them
