Last time I used Mystcraft, you really had to spam the populators (6-9) to stop it from adding extra randoms. Also, packs with dense ores or a generous ore gen, like the dw20 for 1.7.10 pack, may trigger instability regardless.

The arcane bore doesn't mind being moved. I've used them with Arcimedes Ships before. They should work happily enough on a frame quarry setup. IIRC, they can mine up to an 11 block diameter tunnel 64 blocks long, & they can be pointed up and down.

With the arrows, bolts, & throwing weapons, it works as 1 item with many uses that can be repaired. Durability modifiers increase the # of uses. Damage modifiers go on the arrows, speed on the bow.
