ETPMod is a better clone of the old ender thermic pump from ExUtil (1.7.10) than Ranged Pumps. Current version only picks up lava, but future updates may add support for other fluids.

Have you launched the pack since you installed it? Any configs left with the default settings are usually downloaded the 1st time you load/play the pack. Other than that, the only way for me to tell if you have found the right folder is for me to look at your computer directly.

Once you have a feel for what you want and what you are doing, it is not that hard to build a custom pack on your vanilla Minecraft launcher. That said, it is still at least 50x easier to use the Twitch/Curse launcher. Seriously.
