    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

Ooo Ah, wait. Blade material *totally* matters. Tungestensteel blades with a small rotor is 10,000L/sec. Too much ?

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

Next stupid question : Which rotor for 1 fluid reactor's worth of Steam ? Reactor is putting out ~900HU/s, which means roughly 900L of steam/sec, which means small rotor ? And, the blades don't make a difference in terms of performance/capacity, just durability, correct ?

I use the distilled water recipe, but only because I had already built the large distillation tower. When I put those cells with that fluid into the IC2 reactor and did a test run, it didn't blow up. It used the coolant and made hot coolant.

Upgraded to 5.0.8.27 yesterday and getting close to fluid reactor + heat exhanger + large turbine in my survival world. I have verified the reactor produces a good amount of hot coolant, and the heat exhanger cools and turns distilled water into steam. No explosions. NEI didn't show the IC2...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

Ah, thanks. Got it. So no point in chipping @ 24 or 25. The efficiency is too low to make up for the SHS bonus. Only at chip 23 and lower (in number) does SHS bonus makeup for the efficiency loss. This is pretty cool. This means a single, easy reactor is probably best converted to steam only...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

It produces SHS *instead of* regular steam, or SHS on top of (in addition to) the regular steam ?

If I'm reading this right, this means you *must* chip your LHE according to the floor (minimum) Hot Coolant (HC) you are generating, whether lava or IC2 fluid reactor. So, if I chip at #13, for instance, I must always provide 2200mB/t of HC or else the LHE turns off / doesn't work / doesn't...

@Pyure - Many thanks as always, sir :-) I will update ASAP and try it out.

Stupid question for @Pyure, @Blood Asp @DarknessShadow @Joel Falk, or anyone else who knows: I'm on 3.1.6 of the pack, which is using gregtech_1.7.10-5.08.26.jar, and I'd like to get a GT-style fluid working, which I think means: 5x5x5 IC2 reactor with some number of fluid ports with fluid...

Like BR, right ? Just gotta 'prime the pump' with BR, and it preserves water/steam.

Yes, I agree. You have a great setup there. For my part, I was only considering "machine spam era", which is when I usually start AE2, but that's my quirk. Bad assumption on my part, I have to say. Thanks, mate :-) We enjoy it. The pack creator @Jason McRay himself sets a great example.

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

You didn't imagine it all. And, you don't have to rotate the auto-eject side to be the same side as the AE2 bus (interface) or eIO conduit. You can use any *other* side beside the auto-eject side or the front 'face' of the machine. But, yes, if you're using an AE2 interface block as opposed to...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

Yes. "Normally" implied sans screwdriver. That's what I do, too. eIO conduits have a lot of colors, and when you run out of colors, you can make another network and use all the colors over again. Last world, I had about 100 machines (this was pre-Processing Array), and none of them had AE2...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

@SteelGiant To add to what Ieldra said, I don't think you can normally input into the (output) side of a GT machine. In general, you can input into any side except the controller face (front) and the output side, which can be moved to a different side, top, or bottom with a wrench. I usually...

Nope, it looks like the starter MkI fusion recipe isn't that difficult in terms of concept, just lots and lots and lots of centrifuges and electrolyzers (now in processing arrays as @Aiwendil said).

In Minecraft, Deuterium is obtained from Hydrogen in an LV Centrifuge. 16mB Hydrogen for <1 sec @ 20 EU/t, 1 Amp makes 4mB Deuterium. To get Hydrogen from (ocean) water, you electrolyze it. 3,000mB of water for 75 secs. @ 30 EU/t., 1 Amp makes 2,000mB Hydrogen and 1,000mB Oxygen.

@Pyure IRL, which is hypothetical relative to Minecraft, sadly. @Jason McRay I wasn't this interested in fission and fusion IRL until I started playing this pack, which is... @Blood Asp Also my first pack with GT :-)

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

Re: Tritium scarcity Just realized it won't be so scarce/difficult if liquid Lithium is used to absorb the high-energy neutrons from D + T --> He4 + 17.6MeV + neutron. I learned that from Wikipedia, of course. And, Deuterium can be harvested from ocean water, so there you have it for fuel...

    [1.7.10][LISTED] InfiTech 2 Modpack v3.2.21 [HQM][GregTech balanced hard-mode modpack]

He3 + He3 fusion is very difficult, yes. However, He3 + Deuterium fusion occurs at lower temperatures (i.e. longer distances between atomic nuclei) and should be economically viable at scale due to most of the reaction energy being released as charged particles, which is far easier to convert...
