If you play on full screen try running it in a window.

Some laptops can come with a dedicated gpu and an integrated one. Use google and check your laptop specs out and if it does have a dedicated one then google how to set java to use that card. Also I would check for updates for your gfx card just in case of that being the issue.

Are you planning to play the pack in expert mode? If you are then the mods you have removed will cause a lot of issues to the packs progression.

What texture pack are you using. Have you checked for an update? Does this happen with the default textures? I have heard of issues with apple macs having issues with textures not loading correctly. Press and hold the F3 key and tap T. This will reload the textures.

That is odd because it takes regular backups.

Is it the same world you have had. If so then that could be the issue. Check it out with a new world.

It works fine in 2.5.4 as I just checked.

Do you have 64 bit java installed. Also from the log it looks like something is blocking you from downloading with all those attempts to download in your log. Check any security software e.g firewall and antivirus but it could be something else.

Like I said the ftb utilities mod takes regular backups. Have you checked the backups folder?

it looks like a corrupted chunk. Try reverting to an earlier backup. Check the backups folder for one.

Not that I doubt you but how did you update them.

Try setting the launcher to use the jar version and install the latest java and set it use that in the options. If you crash again post a fresh log.

Issue is with your video drivers. Check with the manfacturer for an update for them.

You should keep more recent backups than 3 weeks. The ftb utilities mod in the pack takes more recent backups than three weeks. Unless you have removed it.
