[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Ah, ok. Was hoping there was a little something extra in it. I can't do the bind-and-forget thing with the grindstone as it breaks the wooden crank eventually. I suppose that might be useful if I never needed more than a stack of glass. So far, in all of my playthroughs I haven't used more than...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Have you found that to be faster/more efficient/etc. than just using a hammer? Sure, you have to break each block twice, but it seems faster than the grind stone. That said, maybe there's some bonus to using the grind stone like there is for sugar cane?

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

It's been posted about a few times. Yes, some recipes/uses for water bottles destroy them. You still get the free ones from making PB&J sandwiches/etc. though...

Yep, they restore 10 hearts... I usually keep one on my bar when I'm exploring, just in case. Haven't got a setup for gathering necrotic bones yet, but I hope to set that up soon.

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Found a farm building last night. Pretty fun, got some seeds (and some hay bales!) which was pretty great. Turns out it was two farm buildings next to each other, and right next to them: two cemeteries. I was about to say how OP the loot at the cemeteries is when cave spiders somehow started...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

I'd like to see a quest having to do with some of the cooling methods you may be adding in 1.1.4... I think one of the quests that kind of never reached its potential was the quest to visit certain areas to find data tapes/logs/whatever around the ship. I know it's there to add optional...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Well, sure, but you can get sunflower, tomato, soy, peanut, and rice (plus various tree seeds) from sifting dirt. According to NEI, you should also be able to get grape seeds, but maybe I just had terrible, terrible luck. Oddly enough, NEI says grape seeds are 3% and yet I got several peanut and...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Yep, that's unfortunate... Luckily you can get tons of free bottles by making sandwiches (the kind that use jelly anyway). I find that the only way I lose bottles (since I don't use them to fill drums/tanks hardly ever) is by creating freshwater for making dough. If you use a bucket, the bucket...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Shane tweeted about making the vent blocks you can find on top of some of the buildings functional in 1.1.4...

Also, there are pigmen in the starter city (in fact, all three times I've started over, there was a pigman spawner in the closest ticon factory). Just sayin.

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Yike! I thought brutish pigmen had been removed. I must be lucky because I haven't run into any yet. Yeah, the starter city is still pretty tough. I built a hang glider platform 64 blocks above my base, flew to the city, landed on top of the factory building, broke through the ceiling and got...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Agreed. I just installed it last night -- so helpful. Unrelated -- I ran around to the west of my base and found three stand-alone cemeteries. Didn't bother trying to explore, I heard the blaze noise and NOPE. :)

I don't know about the Enderchest mob/mod, but I used InGameInfo back in 1.2 -- still haven't installed it in 1.3. Hope to do so this weekend.

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

An update: I visited several of my 1.1.3 beta waypoints in my 1.1.3 game and several of the structures still existed, but some did not. I eventually enabled waypoint teleporting and then promptly died on the VERY FIRST waypoint I teleported to when it put me inside a structure (or way up high...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

They're waypoints from the 1.1.3 beta... I didn't try them all; at least one of them is in the new 10-block deeper dust zone, so I wonder if it's completely buried. Might be an interesting project, digging up that town...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Yeah, I used the FTB installer, so I guess I should go through and blow it all away and start over next time I die. Thanks! For now, I'll try to explore in the opposite direction. I won't use the ship, but the other buildings should be fair game, right?

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Forgot to ask this last night... I upgraded to the 1.1.3 and started a new world and all of my waypoints from the beta were present. Not sure if I was supposed to delete the beta first (I didn't see any instructions for that). Anyway, I got together some gear (since there's no more waypoint...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

Just started 1.3... Is it just me or is the first day going by more quickly than in prior versions? I didn't get as much done on day 1 as I usually do...

That's a good point -- I've found myself drawing a bit from this in this year's nanowrimo novel...

[1.6.4]Crash Landing [Hardcore, HQM] version 1.1.x BETA STABLE

I enjoyed it. I like seeing how other folks tackle the early game, and speeding up past the slow parts makes it more fun to watch.
