Are you running on 32bit java? I know that some modpacks now require 64bit of java

Update your java to Java 8 with 64-bits if any issues still occur, then just say and I will try and read the log link carefully instead of skimming

If it was a server memory thing, your friend would probably have the same problem.. sense its only happening to you its a client thing

Well I believe you just need to install the new version of the launcher(dont think there's an update launcher implemented inside the launcher itself)

You should be able to use a backup that Aroma(mod) makes and everything should be there so you dont need to restart fully

seeds do no affect corrupted worlds. Only things players do can affect a world to be corrupted meaning no it wont be corrupted

yes servers down, I think server is having problems because a random shut down made every inventory reset..
