When I started this thread I had my doubts that it would prove to be anything useful. I think it is safe to say that it has succeeded in being useful at least to a certain level. It kind-of feels like a slow paced irc channel...

So now that we have gotten it out of the system that no-one likes using the SPHAX TP :P are there any that people actually do enjoy using? soartex maybe? some of the faithful ones? how is mod support?

Why I thought of the "toe stepping": His goal is in fact to replace the default textures of mods, not just provide a texture pack (texture packs are either themed or different res, this is just better default)

The Brad####'s backpack mod is probably worth looking at, his are upgradeable which is pretty cool, and highly configurable. It also has a core mod that makes inventories take up separate sections of the screen so you can look at a chest, your inventory and your backpack at the same time. Not...

Many of us already play our 1.7 private packs, there might not be a lot of 1.7 public packs but there's a whole lot of 1.7 mods out there :)

Vanilla 1.7 deserves more credit than it gets. For me, this has sufficed for the time being :)

I most certainly agree with that last point. Minecraft for everybody! :D I don't have the mentality of having something different on servers for everybody mostly because I only play SSP, but your post makes a lot of sense.

I completely get you points and agree with them Dorque, I just wish that there was something out there that was really cool actual game content instead of being something simply born out of convenience. One of the things that possibly follows this is the request pipe/remote requester/ender chest...

The problem with portable storage is that everyone finds it convenient to store things, and many mods have these options because it's a good intro into containers and inventories and guis etc. But there never ends up being balance with all those options, TiC did it the best in my opinion but...

I see what you did there ;) In all seriousness, this looks pretty cool, have it my 1.7 test pack and it could be really cool but I still like how the TiC smeltery works and such. I just wish that TiC didn't have so much random stuff in it :P
