    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

With RF as a basis for the power system that Buildcraft would follow, it would be almost guarenteed that perdition could be turned on or off in the config like flicking a switch, easily changing between the old mechanic we all know and *cough* love and a "plug and play" RF feel. I am sure that...

What's new in modded minecraft today?

Alright it looks like BC will natively be moving over to RF. Confirmed by SpaceToad: https://github.com/BuildCraft/BuildCraft/issues/2003

I like blue a lot, the purple looks kinda ... to neon, a darker shade would work better imho.

I just want to give people a pat on the back for getting this thread to over 100 pages, I think it's cool that we managed to keep a general discussion thread going this long without it getting shut down and I has been serving a neat purpose!

In Game Info uses an xml system for showing basically anything you want that gets stored as info. Kinda rusty looking but so powerful.

Part of the problem is that there are now going to be two versions that people feature compare and confuse for bug reporting. Once Forestry under player and coverts care (and whoever else) gets a new feature, everyone will be breathing down the neck of the rf version's dev for it to have it etc...

FTB to partner with Nerd Kingdom to help develop TUG.

I think this is an awesome move! The people at Nerd Kingdom seem very open to TUG becoming a true community and FTB can definitely help them with that! I can picture themed modded versions of TUG being incredibly fun to play and look forward to what the future has to bring, best of luck everyone!

What's new in modded minecraft today?

http://minecraft.curseforge.com/mc-mods/223173-steves-workshop has just been released by VSWE... that guy is far too legit. Watch his tutorial video:

    Good, but overlooked 1.7.10 mods?

I tried it and it crashed; I'm pretty sure that it currently has a hard dependency on pixelmon :P, nope for now.

    Good, but overlooked 1.7.10 mods?

This is actually a really neat looking newish 1.7.10 mod for portable liquid options: Also, can someone share how to put hyperlinks behind smaller phrases instead of a giant url? >.> Edit: Thanks @Padfoote and @Wagon153 Liquipacks Mod

At this point people are going to just agree to disagree. Nothing more can really change. On a new topic, have people played around with the new CoFH world gen json files? It legit doesn't get much better than that.

There are less "attacks" on Reika because RotaryCraft doesn't appeal to the same audience (those who wish to have a realistic gameplay experience). We've mentioned the number game in this last page... here's some more. Let us say that a popular mod has 10 000 active players. Out of those active...

The TE dynamos are pretty rudimentary, but this is by design, to make room for really cool methods of RF gen, not "pink energy" or half a million rf from a nether star (to be fair, the player harm mechanism is well done). I haven't played around with the generators all that much but it seems...

@SynfulChaot - if you find that mfr trivializes things (which I agree with), you don't find the ExU generators trivial? As for thoughts on convenience, I am coming to the conclusion that the word may be as relative in definition as "OP" :P Although I do agree with your points on AE2 and...

I didn't mean to start a flame war, I apologise if I did... I do understand that you can disable all the features, I take careful looks through the configs of every mod I play with and had a bunch of the features disabled when I played with it. My three options were not necessarily things any...

He is openly against putting in config options, calling them "ticking bug time bombs". Lets say there is a block that is quite powerful and requires energy to function. There most likely exists people who then complain about the block being too powerful and easy to obtain/craft and doesn't draw...

What are people currently thinking about Biome mods? For me they were a huge part of the game up until 1.7 but I think mojang kinda stepped up their game... has anyone here played with this biome mod...

I really like the whole generated texture concept for things like ore dusts and such... but it feels like we are being cheated when it is used for decorative blocks... they just look gawdy really. ExU hasn't really been on my "play with" list for a while.

RWTema just posted a tweet saying that people should learn how to use the NEI search mechanics... is there a version where the @mod search actually works?

Alrighty then. Just hopping in here to throw in a request that people keep the discussion courteous, I know people have it in them. But when it comes to irc clients pidgin ftw! ;) On a separate note, would everyone consider 1.7.10 to be completely established?
