    Tell me about your bees

Are you using MC 1.4.7? If you're on MC 1.5.x or later, the maximum you can boost your bee production without your princesses becoming swarmer bees is x16, achieved with four frames. If you're on 1.5.x and don't receive swarmer bees, then it is because of the inner workings of the (forestry)...

To clarify this a little bit: Almost all species work during the day, only the species behind the above mentioned link work during the night. This is locked with the species and cannot be changes (so ne serum for that). Adding the nocturnal trait to a bee allows it, to work both day and night...

    Bee Breeding Wiki

For this to work automagically in the wiki, I'd need to restructure parts of the bee pages, for which I frankly can't muster enough energy at the moment. I can give you a manual list however (Forestry 2.2.8.4, Magic Bees 2.1.1, Extra Bees 1.7.2): Austere Bee Can only be bred in a Biome with...

http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/so-whats-the-specifics-behind-bee-mutation.30488/#post-416339 explains all the steps calculated when a queen dies. The following post uses an example to make the rather technical explanation easier to understand. In that example I only explained everything...

If you want to know, which mod adds a block/item that you see in NEI's list, install Waila: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1846244- (Props to Lathanael for giving me the knowledge about the existance of the mod.)

Aura and You: All About Thaumcraft 3 Aura Mechanics

Crystal Clusters charge existing nodes, they cannot generate new ones. So like it was said months ago: Regenerate the nodes for the node-empty world, otherwise you cannot have nodes there.

The way I interpret it: Each liquiduct can transfer at max 160 mB/t into the consumer. A boiler transfers at max 80 mB/t into an adjacent block that accepts steam. Your setup in the top picture has 3 transfer systems: - boiler via 7 liquiducts -> steam consumer via 3 liquiducts: 7*80 = 560...

Lets See Some Bases! Give Us a Tour!

A 36HP boiler can feed 18 industrial engines (8 MJ/t*18 = 144 MJ/t) with its 720 mB steam/t. Each unpowered liquiduct can accept 80 mB/t from the boiler, so you need 9 liquiduct connections to the boiler. The liquiduct system itself can without a hitch transport the full 720 mB/t. At your target...

    Resignation

Jaded, you will be missed by us all. Granted, we two didn't talk that much on TS, but I remember your enthusiasm you had about FTB and the wiki back then very well. Thanks again for pulling me into the wiki team. May your future shine bright on you and all the best of luck for the road ahead.

A liquid tesseract can accept up to 100 mB/t per side, so you now need 2 liquid tesseracts per 36HP boiler to fully teleport all the steam (in comparison to the MC 1.4.7 packs, where one tess per boiler was enough).

IIRC, a bee housing reports the temperature as hellish, if and only if it is in the vanilla nether biome. I'm also pretty sure, that no amount of heating will get your alveary pushed to hellish, if you're not in hell (= vanilla nether).

    What bees require special biomes?

The frames from Magic Bees don't drain the aura anymore since the renaming Thaumic Bees -> Magic Bees happened.

Does Chocolate frames not work as they used to?

3 choc frames have a total reduction of 50%, as stated above. So: shortest: 10*0.5 = 5; longest: 70*0.5=35. Using three necrotic frames on a longest bee: 70*0.3^3 = 1.89, so it will die after two bee-ticks.

Does Chocolate frames not work as they used to?

I can't answer the differences between frugal-fiendish and fiendish-frugal, but for the chocolate frames: Check: http://wiki.feed-the-beast.com/Frames Each chocolate frame (in MC 1.5.2) reduces the lifespan to 75% with a maximum total reduction of 50%. If you want lifespan reduction, you should...

Bees man im a nub help me out pros?

You could also add the needed temperature tolerance via breeding it in from another bee with the tolerance, or by injecting it via the machines from Binnies Mods (Extra Bees etc.), if you already have the serum. Just remember to only use highest quality serums, don't cut corners.

So, what's the specifics behind bee mutation?

Here is a complex example, focused mainly on the species and thus the mutation mechanics. Let's say you have a princess with Noble/Cultivated and a drone with Common/Majestic. The Noble/Cultivated bee will be displayed in the Beealyzer and the tooltip as Cultivated/Noble, since Noble is a...

So, what's the specifics behind bee mutation?

Forestry has four aspects which you need to look at: 1) Primary/Secondary genome: Each bee has two genomes, containing all the chromosomes a bee has. 2) Chromosome: Commonly referred to as a trait (e.g. species, effect). Contains two alleles, one primary and one secondary. 3) Active/Inactive: If...

Random thought about Mods with new Ores

At which stage of mod loading (pre init, init, post init, ...) will be loaded: - blocks for worldgen - items - oreDict (meaning the time when new blocks/items are registered with oreDict)? Reason: We currently have many mods which add the same ores (copper, tin, ...). Would it be possible to...
