TE 3 Problem: Charcoal into dynamos or Steam into dynamos

Maybe if you can spell my name right! ...just kidding :p The pros and cons are really quickly summarized. LP gives you more power per HU invested and heats up faster. HP takes up less space and less building materials because you only need one HP boiler where you would need two LP ones (though...

    zombine invasions questions

Aheh. I just added Ars Magica to the server today. It's on highest difficulty... let's see if these Hecates are everything I keep hearing about them. Of course, they'll be facing full advanced nano armor and a nanosaber that one-shots everything but endermen...

    Quick question for MCPC+ users...

I went from 25ms with nobody logged in, to 6ms with three players in completely separate ares and server view distance 15. :D It's the chunk garbage collector that Spigot adds that does this - I had that huge idle tick time simply because over weeks of playing, thousands upon thousands of...

The only way for him to jump into creative is if he is an op himself. If you don't want him cheating, de-op him. Problem solved. Of course, that may cause him to be angry at you... >__>

TE 3 Problem: Charcoal into dynamos or Steam into dynamos

It's unfortunately worse than that. The 100% to 110% part is just the fuel usage gain by any boiler while heating up. Fuel efficiency differences between LP and HP vary slightly by size, but for size-36 boilers it's around 20% less MJ per invested HU on the HP side (4.44 vs. 3.48). Or, flipped...

TE 3 Problem: Charcoal into dynamos or Steam into dynamos

Well, I can't disclaim the fact that folks loving HP boilers will be annoyed. The new, permanent extra fuel draw will be felt much more directly than the sort of difficult to grasp concept of heatup costs, especially by those who design fuel loops for long-term sustained operation. It most...

By default, you get 180,000 RF out of a bucket of lava in a magmatic dynamo. So yes, you make a profit off of melting down netherrack. This is intended ;)

TE 3 Problem: Charcoal into dynamos or Steam into dynamos

No they don't. They get more efficient as heat goes up, just like before. Fixing a gross balance issue on the solid fuel side, buffing liquid fuels back up from Player's changes to maintain their usefulness, making boilers more realistic, making boilers more convenient to use, adding a config...

    zombine invasions questions

That will not help, because zombie hordes are not the result of natural spawn mechanics. Zombies simply have a chance to spawn an additional zombie when you're not directly looking at them. Every zombie spawned in this manner has its chance to spawn additional zombies reduced by a small value...

TE 3 Problem: Charcoal into dynamos or Steam into dynamos

10 RF = 1 MJ. The only reason you even have different numbers is because King Lemming wanted to avoid using floating point data types and math, because integer based math is much quicker and takes less memory. So instead of his machines consuming 4.0 units per tick, they consume 40 units per...

@CovertJaguar was doing work on it a while ago. Unsure if it's done yet.

(Update) GregTech is not forcibly turning items into scrap, that was a bug with an old version.

Still surprised how people add two conversion mods at once and expect it to work... Making them not load together anymore in 1.7 is honestly the best course of action for everyone.

I actually don't know any details about how going overkill with mutation boosters affects bees in 1.6. I just breed trees, not bees :P Better ask someone who knows their bees, like @MilConDoin.

The Final Word on Steam Boiler Efficiency

Well, I can't speak for myself, I never built one nor felt the need to. My biggest boiler ever was a 27 LP ;) But in general, when I told people in the past that they could be saving 75 million MJ worth of power in the short term by building two 36 LP instead, the general response I got was...

    Quick question for MCPC+ users...

I'm running the server on my own computer, and the vanilla GUI has been extremely helpful for me in performance monitoring. I can see at a glance if a player is experiencing lag because of TPS issues or because my upstream connection is bogged down (happens when somebody changes dimensions or...

That was actually done away with before that already. The Pristine/Ignoble change came because Sengir was dissatisfied with the way swarmer hives worked differently than normal hives.

Thermal Expansion 3.0!!! No More Beta! Thanks KL!

Mods have been updated for 1.6 since summer. Just because FTB only released something in December doesn't automatically mean that all required mods released in December. 1.6 was ready and stable a long, long time ago. FTB didn't update for different reasons (launcher woes, and 1.5 packs worked...

    Quick question for MCPC+ users...

Nope, I don't. Else I wouldn't be asking ;) I get a CMD console window if I call it from a .bat file; if I just doubleclick it it doesn't give me that either. But in both cases, the white server GUI with the TPS counts and the network usage monitor is nonexistant. This is build 180, the latest...

    Quick question for MCPC+ users...

...how do I get a server GUI? Seems MCPC+ ships without one, and my Google-Fu is weak (I only get year-old results or worse that have nothing to do with what I want to know).
