What is the most overpowered mod in your opinion (NO ORESPAWN)

Rotarycraft is pretty OP... I mean, it's a stated goal of the mod to have "extremely powerful endgame". Want a sword with looting 5 that can oneshot any vanilla mob in the game? Tools and armor that come pre-enchanted when crafted and never break? Ranged weapons and automated base defense...

60% of top threads are now spam.

Here's a candid screenshot: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/44754370/spambots.png Taken on Monday the 15th of September, 07:40 UTC. Of the top 15 threads (below the stickies) in General FTB Discussion, 9 are advertising threads. That is no longer "sorry for the occasional spam post", this...

I don't think that would affect performance, although if you have a weak graphics card your FPS may temporarily suffer while you have the bell equipped due to having to render 1600 connection streams ;)

    Simple Jetpack Crash

Known issue. Zombies and skeletons can sometimes spawn with armor, and jetpacks exist as an armored form, which rarely causes a zombie or skeleton to spawn wearing an armored jetpack. However, the mod is hardcoded to assume that only players can wear jetpacks, so it immediately crashes as soon...

    1.7.10 - A Total Degragation of Performance

Odd. Then you probably have a different issue I haven't personally encountered yet.

    [Rotarycraft] Does not Compute

Yeah, the gas turbine isn't a half bad choice for a bedrock breaker. In the newest versions, you'll need a minimum of 2 MW (1.6.4) / 4 MW (1.7.10) with a very stout torque requirement, which makes a throttled gas turbine a good option. So long as you can avoid being eaten by it. The area is...

    [Rotarycraft] Does not Compute

Yeah, "accidentally made a gas turbine" ought to be difficult when it requires sintered tungsten :p But then again, FTB packs are still shipping like v16 in their "recommended" releases, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was using something utterly outdated.

    1.7.10 - A Total Degragation of Performance

Ask Opis to "purge chunks". Performance degradation is often associated with chunks that are not properly unloaded (also called "chunk leaking"). This happens a lot on Forge servers, probably associated with mods like Thaumcraft that do stuff all over the world whether you use it or not. This...

    [Rotarycraft] Does not Compute

Yeah, that's the general gist. Blast furnace on top of lava (no cooling fin required here). Inside, first thing you do, is put a stack of 63 coal into the 3x3 center grid. Why 63? Because all 9 slots are processed at the same time, so spreading those 63 out into 7x9 will make the process go 9...

    [Rotarycraft] Does not Compute

In that case I'll likely run it with a pair of fuel powered engines. I have plenty of oil to spare :) The lubricant is actually the part that requires more effort in procuring and getting down to mining level in this case, I expect. But hey, I will have four gasoline engines leftover from...

    [Rotarycraft] Does not Compute

Four gasoline engines junctioned together gives me 512 Nm of torque. In a quick test that worked well enough on solid stone, but I'll have to see what happens when it encounters tough ores.

Sorting Systems, Automation, and all that rot.

The thing is, an AE system isn't really a sorting system, it's something you use instead of a sorting system. It's a single giant virtual chest with a text search interface. It sorts nothing unless you intentionally skip on ME storage drives of any kind and only use storage buses to connect...

Thoughts about open source Minecraft alternatives?

Terasology looks interesting due to the higher stock graphical fidelity (while still preserving the blocky charme). Thing is, this game is something like 2.5 years old, and after a (very small) number of previews in 2012, I have heard absolutely nothing of it. I know that there's such a thing as...

Thoughts about open source Minecraft alternatives?

The only "debacle" here is that people are throwing tantrums about nothing... 100% of the damage that has come out of this rumored deal so far has been caused by the community, to the community. I just can't stop shaking my head. As for Minetest, I don't know enough about it to form an opinion...

Sorting Systems, Automation, and all that rot.

There's three types of sorting systems: 1.) Termination controlled: Basically what you have done. You have pipes that will insert into the first available inventory, and then set your inventories up in such a manner that only one valid choice remains for each item. Barrels obviously excel at...

    [Rotarycraft] Does not Compute

There's also a different route you can take if you have sugarcane available: Blast Furnace -> Worktable -> DC Engine -> Fermenter -> Gasoline Engine -> Grinder That's one block more to craft, but it eschews the worm gear, which you will never use again. It also makes the grinder quite a bit...

Poll: What is your favourite Minecraft version?

1.8 turned out incredible with regards to under-the-hood improvements, I can't wait to see what modders do with it.

P2P tunnels are basically multiplexers. The idea is that you can send multiple channels through one tunnel by the round-robin packet method. First channel 1 sends something, then channel 2, then channel 3, then channel 1 again and so on. In real life this technique is used pretty much everywhere...

    The Update to 1.8

What would make you think that they would? Not only is there the sheer mass of Forge mods to consider which would cease to be supported, but additionally, the Sponge team is full of Forge-friendly people. You just have to look at the roster to see it. And besides all the Forge-friendly people...

Nah, you're just misunderstanding what he's trying to tell you. Previous poster said: "search dw20 modpack ice reactor setups" But instead of "ice reactor" it's probably a typo on "nice reactor" or "ic2e reactor". Nothing to do with ice whatsoever.
