There is a biome mod that has a subtype for dirt. In the case I am thinking of there is this burning dirt that when mined makes "dirt". Regular dirt is ID 3, this other Dirt is like 3:1 or something.

So that makes a magnetic iron rod, but to make a steam turbine I need circuits which require a refined iron item casing which needs to be made in a a machine that eats EU, so I am not sure how that helps me. I'll try to remember that when I get there....

Stupid question: How do I start producing EU, i.e., how do I move out of the bronze age? We have pretty much all of the bronze stuff, including the blast furnace, and are making steel. But how do we generate EU? Every EU generator seems to require an EU consuming machine to make the parts...
