I suppose that you would have to also compare the crystal against a charcoal source from a tree farm, which can be essentially free after infrastructure costs.
If you use the same portal in the same location, even though you regen the nether, you'll have a very high likelihood that it will be the exact same. Choose a location far away, and try to use a different y-level.
You can thank @KirinDave for this little feature. What you are experiencing is the Blood Altar's input and output buffer, where the output buffer is filling itself with 1k LP. The reason this is there is to limit the amount of LP you can pump out of an altar in a given amount of time, because...
Don't be afraid to ask more difficult questions too about the lore of the mod, etc. I hear that the mod maker tends to stalk the forums regularly. Probably just a rumour.
Harvest golems unfortunately have a range of only four blocks, even though the book says otherwise. Either move the farm in closer, or try to instead add a perception (water?) upgrade to them.

However this is a forum in the sense we are allowed to have a discussion about it. He put forward what he thought was OP and what shouldn't be in the modpack by default.
I also agree with the Geostrata crystals - regeneration III is a little high for something that is free.
Finally seeing that the system that you were spending over a month on starts to take form. I assume it's ok to talk about things that don't occur in-game but rather modding the game, right? :D
