It wouldn't be the noise, that doesn't affect FPS. Its probably the rendering of the engines pumping and the particles, and if you use normal pipes the energy flow could cause some lag too.

One heater can power 5 furnaces (the 6th side is power) so if you can keep the power coming you've got a mean smelting system.

Factorization is a nice mod, but with all the other systems which are easier, cheaper, faster, and just about as effective; it falls short. Has anyone else tried to make an item filter for a router? Take a look at the recipe and you'll see why people prefer pipes and AE.

Even then it can be tricky to get the right amount - I would reccommend getting all four alembics with 5 tallow golems, calculating exactly how much you need, then separating the materials into stacks of the right size. They can only be bred at night, during a full moon, near a pure node - and even then the chance is small. I would reccommend getting a lot of drones and princesses ready as well as metabolic frames or soul frames, and then an oblivion frame. Saves a lot of time.

Unless you planted a lot and grew a large node far enough away, then moved it. Then it would be the opposite and very helpful. However that is very difficult... You could try pure bees, but you need a pure node to breed them. It wouldn't change the node but it would clear up the flux a bit.

Odd... Are you using 1.1.1? What type of pipe?

Make sure the gate you're using is a high enough quality, it still works for me with diamond gates, not sure about lower tier.
