Hello,

I've been pumping lava out of the nether for a while, and I have about 35 thousand buckets worth. However, due to my insane power requests, I have to move the pump often. Now that I'm moving to steam power, I need to empty my lava tanks. I would pump the lava into a void pipe, but it seems too wasteful. Does anybody have any ideas of what I could use it for?

Pump it into liquiducts and run them around your base for lighting.

Heating cells and then let nuclear reactors explode for eye candy?
This just gave me a brilliant idea! Heating cell + 0 chamber reactor = quickest explosive mining ever! Reactors have a blast radius of 45 (nukes are 35) meaning it'll clear out a bunch of blocks on the cheap.

Although, with GT the blast 'damage' depends on what fissionable material is inside (when my old breeder reactor blew up a few worlds ago it couldn't even destroy stone). Even still, just chuck a few uranium cells in there and it'll do just fine, you wouldn't even need the heating cells :p

Why does no one use industrial TnT? Or dynamite?

hehehe. . .
get a 6 chamber reactor
fill it ALL the way up with QUAD uranium cells.
run a LONG redstone line.
flip lever.
run. 0.5 seconds later: KABOOM!

for lava, if you wanna keep it, pump it into a GT quantum tank.

install 6 valves in the side of your tank.
run a seperate liquiduct from each valve to each side of the quantum tank.
set to extract, apply redstone signal, watch the tank drain.

Turns lava into copper, tin, electrum and tiny piles of thorium? tungsten? One of those two...
