What block is at those coordinates? Keep in mind that since your position is -982.7, when you round it down it's not -982, it's -983. So -982 is the block next to the one where you are standing in the screenshot.
Today I tried to play FTB Retro SSP and I was annoyed that there was no sound besides the Portal radio in the spawn area.
Here's how I fixed it.
Using the standard launcher (not FTB), install and run Minecraft 1.2.5 in a separate directory.
Make sure that sound works in Minecraft 1.2.5...
The factory cannot be "reconstructed". There are some ruined machines, in no particular arrangement, only for the atmosphere. Unfortunately, it's mainly just an empty building.
I'm sure it's possible to arrange them in a somewhat sane manner; the above post was mostly for amusement (at Graphviz's lack of ability to generate anything even slightly reasonable)

(If you're wondering, the blank nodes are created when there's more than one way to breed a bee - each blank node is one recipe)
Updated Minecraft Forkage again - fixed the problems with fluid containers (causing problems getting creosote oil out of coke ovens, and causing some NEI recipe lookups to crash)
I've updated the Minecraft Forkage link to 1.6, which fixes the crash on startup with the newest version of the modpack.
Hmm. I bet that's the same issue that causes the NEI crash with squeezer recipes - which is that fluid containers somehow don't get registered. (I'd previously discounted...
