Workaround for no sound in retro packs

Today I tried to play FTB Retro SSP and I was annoyed that there was no sound besides the Portal radio in the spawn area.

Here's how I fixed it.

  • Using the standard launcher (not FTB), install and run Minecraft 1.2.5 in a separate directory.
  • Make sure that sound works in Minecraft 1.2.5.
  • Exit Minecraft 1.2.5.
  • Find the "resources" folder underneath where Minecraft 1.2.5 is running from.
  • Find the "resources" folder underneath where FTB Retro SSP is installed.
  • Copy the entire "resources" folder from Minecraft 1.2.5 to FTB Retro SSP
  • Go to your game directory and open the "resources" folder.

I hope this helps someone else.

I had the same problem with ftb ultimate and for me just using MultiMC to download and play the pack worked.
