Obsidian's strong enough, my teammate on KingdomsCity used an obsidian wither cage with a piston in the middle to easily kill the Wither. It spawned and then just sat there, stuck in the extended piston. I think it was a little wider than 3x3? Maybe check in a test world first.

I have no idea about the dragon though. Never beat her, I've never gone to the End in single-player and she's always been already dead in multiplayer.

For the wither, you eventually want to fight it in an obsidian cage, or some other material that has been 'reinforced' by the wand focus of warding. This is the method I used, since the items/armor I have allow me to just bat him to death head-on.

As for location, at the 'top' of the nether (at bedrock layer) is the preferred location - this is where the piston trick being discussed is coming from. That works by getting him 'stuck' in the middle of some bedrock blocks that has a hole above it, so you're looking for a couple of open blocks above a couple of bedrock blocks. I gave up and just used a warded obsidian box at that height. :)

Fighting him in the nether also gives you wrath shards. That is a required ingredient for the Infernal wand core, which makes a wand that will make you immune to the wither effect when just left in your inventory (gold caps are enough for this purpose). Useful for him (later), the Gaia guardians, and the various bosses in the Outerlands end dungeon in thaumcraft.

The Ender Dragon here is a 1.7.10 Vanilla one, so any normal methods should work fine. Flight would be nice of course, so getting far enough in one of various lines would be ideal (and the Mekanism free runner boots are fairly cheap too, compared with the rest of its items). This pack was my first experience with that fight actually, as the other pack I was learning on had Hardcore Ender Expansion (aka "don't bother going to the End"). :p

The piston thing my teammate used was just at sea level in the Overworld.
It worked perfectly, the Wither got stuck in the extended piston (as in, it was extended through its body) and just remained completely still there while we shot it with arrows.

If anyone wonders, you should NEVER NEVER EVER do an obsidian jail with a ONE LAYER cellar and the piston trick.
I have done it... and my wither fly away... Now i am in a apocalypse, i can't ever get out of my base. I have no more stuff left, i tried kitting with speed pot, and i got killed, i tried to snipe it from far away, it rushed me and killed me. Now... i am crying, looking at the big holes in my wall and i'm trying to figure out how could i kill it.
F.. wither.
I'm thinking about a tunnel in obsidian, to pull it inside, and close it behind, but i have no more pickaxe and i can't access to my obsidian field, so... gonna be rough...

Edit : I killed it. I bunny hopped away after pulling to protection my base and my fields. So i could get my stuffback, i leave everything home but crossbow, bolts and sword. I brew some pots from magical crops petals, regeneration, speed, strength and jump boost. And back to fight!
I shoot him from far away, max range for my crossbow. Once midlife, it's gone to the floor. And i rushed it. He killed me twice but i come back with flint sword (nothing else left xD). And finally got him.

I'll have to do it again... and i'm scared. Maybe 3 layer obsidian cellar for the jail.
Or maybe i'll got even bigger holes in my base walls. Idk

Just a wild guess on my part, but I suspect it wasn't ready for prime time when @thephoenixlodge started working on this pack. It looks really cool and I may just try to stick it in to my world.

I'm looking for some kind of autocrafting, i mean i would like to insert items in a block and as soon as there is enough for the craft, the crafting is done and the résultats can be sucked up in a Hopper or a pipe.
Like for exemple the cyclic assembler from Thermal Expansion.
It's pretty mandatory for any kind of automation. And i see no one talking about this.
How are you doing for this? I.e. 8 coal essence into 12 coal.

Well, the simplest way is using Auto Workbench from Buildcraft. To make it work, arrange the recipe, fill it with ingridients, attach a wooden pipe to it and supply the wooden pipe with energy. Other options available are:
  • Molecular assembler from Applied Energistics
  • Crafty crate from Botania
  • Golems's workbench from Automagy
BTW, if you just want to craft some things quickly, you can just bind a recipe in Super crafting frame

If you search the thread, you'll find a number of discussions on the topic, most of which lately have to do with the Auto Assembler's need for a redstone signal pulse to keep it from malfunctioning.

I managed most of my early-mid game using a few Super Crafting Frames (lava on demand!) - I mostly only needed fuel in bulk and once I started using wheat conversion, didn't need to craft it from essence anymore anyway.

My Thaumcraft golems are breaking my crop sticks.

I looked it up and everyone says this was fixed in version 1.4.2 of Agricraft and we're using 1.5 (unofficial) because that's what's in the pack. Does the 1.5 not fix this?

Was working fine in 1.5.0, but may have been broken again going into the unofficial bugfix version.
@Mordenkainen care to take a look?

Hello there guys. I have a problem. I'm currently trying to infusion enchant an enchanted Elucidator I found in a reward bag.
I keep getting this crash report:
Plz help
For starters, don't post crash reports in full like that - stick them on pastebin and then link it here. If I remember rightly that sword either has a combination of enchants that aren't normally allowed together, or it has an enchant above the usual cap, and its probably a matter of TC not liking that, so nothing can really be done at this point.

I run on exactly the same problem yesterday.
If you put the golem, before crops are fully grown, he goes on them and break to get the crop sticks as a fruit. But if you let every crop grow to full maturity, before you put the golem, he will understand.
Take your golem back in your hands, let every crops grow until you could harvest them, then put your golem back in the middle of the field. It worked for me, i hope it may help you.

Like Harstdeath said, it's specifically only 0% grown crops (seen him punch out Essence and Coal Essence, haven't let him rampage so not sure if he hits non-Magical Cross)

My golem has decided to break every coel crops. So it's not specifically 0% grown crops. It seems that he starts harvesting, but when there's nothing left to harvest, he goes on breaking crops.
I have found no other solutions for auto harvesting.
I've a forestry multi farm already built, but it seems not to accept essence harvesting
Is it any other way to auto harvest?

Btw, i had 2 more questions : can we link more than 2 jabba barrels? With the ender pearl upgrade.
And is it a website to find informations about bees? Or a getting started or tutorial?
I don't understand the breeding system. My pristine queens keep dying, creating just one more princess. So...
And what species of bees can leave in ocean biome, or wasteland, and what kind of flowers do they need? And maybe where to find them?

Forestry Multifarms need a circuit board with specific electron tubes "soldered" onto them to tell the farm what you want it to do. In the case of agricraft cropsticks you need to "set" it to Manual Orchard.

No idea on the jabba barrels, but I suspect no, that would likely cause issues somewhere.
Yup, that's what's supposed to happen with queens. They die and produce one princess and a bunch of drones (or possibly no drones in the case of non-pristine). Then you mix the drone you want and the princess you want and they create a new queen. This is why most people who are going to do bee breeding grab as many hives as they can get their hands on. Additionally, Ignoble queens, if you want to keep them around and producing, should be thrown into bee houses as opposed to apiaries.
Water bees can live in ocean biomes, rock bees can live basically anywhere but produce the least. Flowers is found out by placing a bee into an Analyzer, in addition to a bunch of other useful info about the bee.
Pure nodes, if you've hit Thaumcraft and have a Thaumometer, create a Magical Forest biome around them. This is good for most types of bees beyond desert ones, which are for wasteland as well, and winter ones, which need tundra or some such.
Frankly, I wouldn't suggest going TOO deep into bees till you get to the point in either Witchery, Blood Magic, or Thaumcraft where you have access to their biome changing stuff. Having some hives going now in the background will save you a lot of time down the road, but bees are rather dependent on their environment and the plants around them unless you use a controlled multiblock hive thing that may or may not be in the pack.
When you do hit the point where you're stuck, check the FTB Wiki on Forestry and bees in general, as well as just google. People have been messing with bees for years now, there's tons of documentation around, it just requires a bit of a sort through.

About bees' houses ...
What is the point about hive? I can craft it, change type, and break them but i can't put any bee inside.
Forestry wiki says players can't get them unless creative mode.
I don't really understand why to craft them...

If you want to learn about forestry bees and you are a complete newbie at it, then perhaps a heavily customized mod-pack such as regrowth may not be the best place to do it.

But anyway; In "vanilla" forestry, bee-hives just spawn naturally in the world, forest hives in forest, meadows hives in plains, etc. The point is that you go and hunt for them to collect bees in the wild. Same way you collect iron in vanilla by finding the ore somewhere. To collect the bees, break the hives with the correct tool.
In Regrowth the only hives that spawn in the world are the desert variant, so a recipe is added to craft the other types. This is unique to the modpack and doesn't normally happen in forestry. To get the bees, place the hives on the ground and then break them with the correct tool, just as you would if you found them.

Bee-houses are a place to let the bees live that the player can control same as apiaries.

So there are bees in the hives as soon as we place them down??
That was the point i don't get.
So if i want a naturally spawning bee, i create a beehive, i throw it in mana pool with the right block under til i get the right beehive. Then i place it, and i have my bee.
And for others bees, i crossbreed them following NEI recipes.
Is it right?
