Yup. It's called boredomRemember that gregtech is making the game harder, it actually adds a lot of endgame gameplay. If you're patient enough you'll see. A very different gameplay experience.

I dont understand something. People complain that they get to 'end game' within hours (or maybe not complaining, they are bragging) of starting a new world, but then no one wants gregtech recipes? People talk about having more resources than they know what to do with in just a few quarry runs, but then suggesting more expensive recipes makes no sense?
Also... the whole GAME is tediousness and grind. Why do we craft anything at all? People say they dont like gathering resources, they like building things... why not use Cheat Mode on NEI then, and just cheat in all your stuff, then run a quarry but have it just export into void pipes I guess.
Having more expensive recipes doesn't add anything to the game, by itself. You still get to do the same things, it's just going to take you longer. That creates tediousness.
In my opinion, as long as recipes makes sense, and are not "diamonds for dirt", they're fine. The challenge for mod developers should then instead be to come up with interesting and cool things to do, which are fun to combine with other mods, etc.
It may add endgame stuff, but it makes it take four times as long to reach the endgame. And when I'm playing a game, I like to have fun, rather than being forced to do boring things in order to reach potential future fun, which is basically what GT does.Remember that gregtech is making the game harder, it actually adds a lot of endgame gameplay. If recipes didnt matter, why not play creative mode or use cheats? Why is the small cost of a pulverizer better than zero cost of cheating it in with NEI? If you play survival without cheats, you are admitting that 'more tedium' IS MORE FUN for you. This gretech debate is like politics, everyone is so polarized they are missing basic logic.

Arguing that this change would be bad would be like... saying Hardcore mode was a bad idea. "No no that mode isn't any fun!"
Well... it is? Hardcore mode is the single worst design decision Mojang ever took. Period. Plus, if you are so interested in this, go do it yourself. I'm sure there will be other masochistic Greg fanboi's that will lap up your sense of fun.
I am a creative player, I play the game to make cool shit, Gregtech get's in the way of that cool shit.
Most people probably wouldn't even touch GT if he didn't change the quarry recipe into needing a whole room full of ic2/gt machines. Spend hours/days building all this stuff just so you can use a BC item that needs BC power. I don't mind mods making things harder but forcing me to use a mod to build a totally unrelated mods machines isn't fun to me. Most GT machines are ugly and by the time you have the materials/power to run them, you no longer need them. I thought it was a good challenge my first couple times playing through with GT installed and now i realize how little that mod really adds.
And the requisite IC2 energy network which some people wouldn't have bothered with if all they were looking for was a quarry.Um, you only need an Industrial Electrolyzer and an Industrial Blast Furnace.

why do people complain when recipes are hard like oh shit a mod uses a diamond better watch the fuck out
balance has to exist for survival mode to be playable, or else it would be creative
survival mode=grinding and surviving
if you complain that a mod adds a recipe with harder recipes that you don't want to grind for, you mine as well just stop playing minecraft

Last time i played with GT you needed ic2 power ( which can be a lot of machines), extractor, compressor, plate bending machine, electrolyzer, IBF, possibly a industrial centrifuge and probably a couple mfe's.
Generator + MFE = Enough energy for both of those machines.
Agreed, also, there are configs for that sorta thing anyway.[DOUBLEPOST=1377398407][/DOUBLEPOST]
Well, you don't need an MFE, but they aren't expensive anyway. IC2 power is easy to get, and isn't a lot of machines. Plate Bending is optional for Titanium, but recommended as it will result in less resource use, and they are helpful anyway. You don't need an Extractor or Compressor, I think.
