My EU power in my last base was purely from generators powered by coal (wither skele shard), blaze rods (blaze shard) and scrap
I was able to power 5 mfsus constantly.
Well worth the iron and tin

...and there were so many irish policemen that 'paddywagon' became slang for police vehicles.

On to my play style - as I have a bad case of ADHD (literally) I change what I'm doing nearly every time I log in... therefore I often leave myself little notes on signs on what I was doing, and why.

Which means I regularly gut my base, re-design it and repeat time and again.

I always keep a list on my iTouch in the notes :)
It tells me what to do and reminds me to backup :p

I built the entire factorization setup (those mirrors and turbine) and crystallizer just to make some slime balls for my RC blast furnace, and then I built the entire thermal expansion set up with those steel (TE hardmode) from blast furnace just to make a pair of liquid tesseracts to pump oil for my diesel generators (eu), not to mention using most of my irons to make 2 5x5x5 iron tanks afterwards for the oil and fuel.

As much as I love love love Tesseracts, there's this huge oil spout 900metres from my base which I plan on railing in with a Railcraft locomotive train. No mystcraft portals, just a good-old fashioned stretch of track and a few bridges. Even put a hole through the nearby mountain with Railcraft's Tunnel Bore. o_O

Everyone else thinks I'm crazy, but to hell with 'em. :) At least I found a use for my Sawdust->Charcoal processing line.

Add Traincraft and build a fancy train with work carts, service carts, passenger carts for the refinery workers, a diesel locomotive, and loading/unloading stations. :)

I really wish there were more long-term resource deposits, so that something like this wouldn't become merely a tourist attraction after a day of drilling.

Well this is something I seen in tekkit when someone blew up a nuke underground and made them into bases and homes or jungles I think copied from Ethos. Sounds more cool then crazy.
My ocd gets set off by this game always mine that last coal and devastate gravel once I see it sometimes I get annoyed and TNT it...
Always play windowed.
Made some crazy stuff in Tekkit made 50x50 quarries and combined them into a 200x200 hole and built old school spawners from it, also made a factory that uses crafting tables to make solar panels from the basic furnace, battery's and circuits. Cause I did not like the project table.
I never take bookshelves from villagers but the chests are fair play >:D
My home looks like one of those pictures satellites take of major cities at night.

Do you mean using traincraft for that particular build or using traincraft in general? because quite honestly I like traincraft it adds that oil stuff when macerated gives you pretty good amounts of power (easy for starting off)[DOUBLEPOST=1363743768][/DOUBLEPOST]

For how much hatred Tekkit got it was pretty good for just messing around on. I feel like FTB is more serious and requires more dedication which I'm TOTALLY fine with, but like I said for how much hatred Tekkit gets it's an alright modpack (if only it wasn't copyrighted)

Not trying to derail, but we know what petrol is. Or I do.

Also, I play trying to be as-deviant while also followin' some others.. I also *gasp* don't test TOO terribly much on creative. Wastin' rescources for me. Oh yeah.

Also, I gave up the idea of making a wicked cool server room for AE and just said "screw it" and am working on my very first redpower sorting system. For some reason I was always too "nope." to make one before, in Technic/Tekkit

Also, guys not trying to derail again but Tekkit Lite is completely legal. :)
