Yea, and that's what I really like about MFR.It's like that was the idea
You see, some mods are 'tiered'. You need to build the Tier 1 stuff to build the Tier 2 stuff to build the super-awesome Tier 3 stuff. MFR... doesn't hold to that.
you're letting us play with the fun toys pretty much right out of the box

You see, some mods are 'tiered'. You need to build the Tier 1 stuff to build the Tier 2 stuff to build the super-awesome Tier 3 stuff. MFR... doesn't hold to that. Instead of tiers, it's more like an interconnected web. Most of the things in MFR can be built fairly early on (although powering them might take a bit more infrastructure).
So instead of having to build more and more complex items to get the fun toys, you're letting us play with the fun toys pretty much right out of the box, and the challenge isn't crafting the items so much as organizing them and setting up the infrastructure in a way that maximizes the synergy between machines. I really like that thought. Then again, I really like planning out design structures, so that's right up my alley.
It is a design philosophy which I strongly approve of.
Never thought about it like that. I usually keep the same point of view for all mods, as in they use the same old tier system. If something is cleverly designed (like MFR clearly is) then I'll probably imagine it just having a very large first tier with very little in the second and third tiers.
Not that the tiered mods aren't fun though, when you do actually get to play with the toys in them.

And don't forget a lack of punctuation like oh my god can u not what i dont even is this life like and then wow can u not? can u not. Can you not.
Surprised DW20 hasn't done much with MFR yet... He seems like an incredibly nice, cool, laid back guy and his videos seem relaxing, but he just does the same stuff over and over.. He's one of those people who I think would do great things with MFR though.
Also; PRC do you have an ETA on how long MFR will take to update to 1.6?
I just want him to poke BoP with a sharp pointy stick. manually planting willow wood is driving me nuts. I have enough darkwood and white wood to last for eons. But willow and sakura? Nawp. ;-;
I sadly have to agree, i think his fans are starting to notice more and more now. I think when the next mod push is upon FC1 he will be toying around with the new goodies.
He uses turtles way too much also :3.
