If you find balance a bad thing go play creative this is not the place for you.[DOUBLEPOST=1367541382][/DOUBLEPOST]
I'm sure you think you understand everything, but that's not the case. I'm talking about the mods that give up content and obsess on 'balance" rather than new features. This is usually done by adding tons of recipes and a long tech tree. Other mods are balanced and keep simplicity/cool features, like TE and MFR. Good day, I don't think I'll waste my time debating if you insist on proving me wrong.

Don't forget that the lower tier drills not only lose wood but have a durability and need repairs occasionally. I think this is honestly a much better solution however because he also adds in a more expensive drill that works like it does now except gives more things. In honesty once you get started this is actually a buff to Steve's Carts. Also another thing is balance is an opinion and if you don't like it just stay away. No one is asking you to use it. And isn't the addition more content? There are now 3 types of woodcutters instead of one. More variety is better imo. That's why we have so many ways of doing one thing (in this case cutting wood).

So I would use a filter worth the tubes...I could even set up a furnace just to make charcoal to send back up. I have to think this through lol. Do I need to keep the engine near manager to pump items out?

If you cant put together a recipe because it has multiple steps stick to creative (NEI is hard).

I see two filters, timer and cargo manager...don't know what is between the two filters.

2 filters and a relay?

I tried messing around with tubes and stuff, but eventually I declared that to be hard and non-space-efficient.

So, now there's two cargo managers and two of those rails that make the cart stop. One exchanges actual cargo and the other is just there to be constantly stocked with 64 charcoal by a golem. Easy-peasy.

In my beginner's guide I built a little setup with its own furnace and charcoal supply that keeps the cart stocked but doesn't make too much charcoal. I've not had to touch it since I set it up a couple of weeks ago. Link in spoiler tags if you think it might help :)
