Oh well if he says so.

Wisdom and intelligence are not dichotomies of each other. You can be wise and smart at the same time. Street smarts has very little to do with wisdom. Wisdom is being able to understand people with limited data. A certain type of empathy that stretches to emotional understanding. People with high wisdom tend to reason more with intuition then sensation or thinking function. Intuition is the ability to make intelligent leaps of understanding that dont follow linear paths of logic. In fact that unpredictability in chess and games in general is exactly why I am so good. If you expect everything YOU calculate to be precise then you are unwise. That is the inherent flaw in your understanding of strategy games and human thought in general. Have you read Dune? You are like a mentat that believes his data is perfect. You need to realize that your human perception can be flawed and that your data could be wrong. Assuming your unconscious doesn't trigger sometimes in your life is exactly why people struggle with you man. Strategy games help you get a read of your mental faculties and your ability to handle data. There are other smart people out there to battle your wits against and get stronger.

Then I wouldn't say my wisdom is low. I am able to understand people fairly easily with limited data. I can generally draw a close line of who they are. I also don't necessarily assume my data is correct I assume it to have flaws. I then draw possible logical followings upon that. I program for my ability to handle data. I also would never want to improve my mind or memory. I want to demolish it. I am a strong believer that ignorance is bliss.

I'm certainly not going to argue with you about how you feel Hoff, but I think if you're actually the sort of person you describe, you'd actually find Go more engaging, not less. If only for the cognitive science behind how humans play it.

As a novice, it's exceptionally unlikely you really understand Go at the level the video is showing. Even moreso than Chess, Go is not a game you can understand without playing. And I'm fine if you don't, but I think it's silly you think you understand the game then talk about reading like, "Oh yeah I got this secret trick called thinking ahead I do." Playing under and reading are both core tools in a very large toolbox of Go moves.

Most great Go players spend hundreds of hours (yes, hundreds!) just doing so-called "Life or Death" problems where you have 1-5 moves to not totally lose. And even novice problems often have absurdly complex solutions.

P.S. Is scrap a boiler fuel? If so...

I may not understand it much but from what I can tell: White is attempting to move in on a capture for two different sets of blacks but won't be able to actually reach it for some time because of the almost "ko" or however it's spelled defense black has at the bottom middle. He then chooses to move to to target a different set of which also has a very dedicated "defense". A lot of blacks areas seem to be very defensive in nature while white seems to be purely offensive neither player trying to balance both from the few moves in the video.

Anyway I don't seek to understand more than I already do. I seek to understand less.

The boiler question; I actually fell over laughing. I have no idea though.

Kinda happy about that. Seemed weird that you could burn something made from cobble.

It's not made from cobble. It's a non specific source material. I probably recycle as many bee drones and empty bottles as cobble.

Well, it CAN be made from cobble.

At any rate, it's non-burn material. Or at least, doesn't burn hot enough to fuel a furnace.

I wonder if some of the outputs from Scrap BOXES would work?

Oh certainly, but not enough.

At least with GT installed (barring config modifications) 60% of the output of scrap boxes is .... scrap! This is a balancing measure against the increased cost of UUmatter - otherwise scrap is just incredibly valuable in comparison.

After that it's a variety of dirts and other non combustibles. The only burnables would really be the wooden tools.[DOUBLEPOST=1367011306][/DOUBLEPOST]

Actually it's a CovertJaguar nerf. Scrap burns just fine in an IC2 generator or sterling engine. Just not a boiler.

I still find that weird.

Although, I suppose it hardly matters. A lot of people could argue that wood is just as accessible in large quantities as scrap.

Huh, sad to see that Steve's Carts are being nerfed in 1.5. Guess I made the switch to MFR at the right time.

Although I did it because my Steve's Cart farm (2chunks) wasn't keeping up with my wood needs. Replacing it with 12 MFR harvester/planter combinations saved space and got me a ton more wood. Which says all it needs to about the relative OP-ness of Steve's Carts.

While using wood to run boilers is all fun and everything, I'm more worried about Soul Shard Wither Skeletons not dropping coal, or just losing the mod entirely. If that happens, I'll be really sad. With the boost to Creosote oil, I should be able to run 1 liquid fueled boiler on 20 coke ovens and at least 2 solid fueled ones on the coal coke. Currently, I comfortably run the 1 liquid fueled one and 3 solids on 32 coke ovens and actually void pipe creosote oil when the max-sized iron tank fills up. MFR can't spawn Wither Skeletons that I can tell. Not to mention that I abuse the heck out of their coal for diamonds and carbon fiber. (I'll miss their skulls, after I use up the 65536 I have in my barrel...)

MFR solves your problems, my son. Accept MFR into your heart and rejoice!

MFR is a very good thing and doesn't use a huge needless convoluted tech tree. It is simple. It does what we want. I just hope it doesn't get tainted by the "balance bug"

Well, and I mean... I don't mind convoluted tech trees when it comes to something like... the fusion reactor. That produces large-scale power which we couldn't hope to replicate manually, right?

Well, most MFR machines just automated normally-manual processes at the expense of power. I've always wondered why people feel that requires a big, giant, complicated crafting recipe.

They're upgrading all recipes to use tungsten plate instead of plastic

Well, then between MFR and AE, all I really need is a Ruby, Sapphire, and Green Sapphire and tools mod and I won't need RP2 any more. (And assign RP2's ores/items to this new mod) (And Basalt and Marble)
