The Raptors sorta sound like they're inspired by the Ultima Online's use of Hiryu.
They do look petty similar but I've never played on UO. They are mainly inspired by the modern interpretation of Velociraptors such as this:
But also the ones from Guild Wars 2.
To my surprise:

The similarity comes basically from origin who, instead of doing pixel art, just screenshotting the creatures from a 3d polygonal version, poorly cutting them and pasting them as-is as sprites into the 2d client.
They all looked as photoshopped in from another game.
Your version is true 3d, but the camera angle made the creatures look very similar
This is how they looked:
Reminds me of Konung, an old game a used to play along time ago, things from that game also looked like 3D models splatting into 2D sprites too!
Awesome, I'll get @Jadedcat to get your tag on you when she is on next.
Hmm odd, they should respect light levels, but you can disable them being going to the config folder and then opening LycanitesMobs/PlainsMobs.cfg, from there set their Spawn Weight to 0.Lycanite is there anyway to stop kobolds from spawning, they seem to ignore light levels and I built my house on what seems to be a spawn point.
Hmm well I'm working on an update (1.4.9b) which is going to tackle a lot of bugs so I'll take a look into this too. I'm adding a new debug setting to the config so this is something that could be debugged too.Can confirm that, always have Kolbolds spawning in my tower (fully lit, enclosed, and each floor only accessible via elevators). I just treat them as a pest infestation, and whack them with a sword accordingly. I'd ignore them, but their sqweeks can be annoying
