I wish I could code :( I've tried picking it up myself a few times, but after that mental breakdown I had in the past there seems to have changed something in my head which gives me problems when I try to learn new stuff. I always wanted to get an education for computers and such, but with the problems I had it never got that far

but I guess the big reason people are attracted to Minecraft is the endless possbilities how you can play the game, and the friendly community around it. people play Minecraft for having fun and doing creative things, or play modded minecraft to build huge builds and such. I've never seen a community with Minecraft with any other game before

don't worry about making this a topic about yourself, because that's basically the point of this topic. if you wish to do so you can tell us something about yourself

Firstly: Yay! :p

Secondly: Don't worry about coding as in billions of lines, like 'The Matrix' or skynet. :p Start simple. :) If you need help, there are people offering it (me included) :p Admittedly, I can't code worth a cent, but it's the thought that counts, eh? ;)

Oh. I do enjoy a good book. :p The inheritance series is quite good, actually. :p I don't have so much as a bookshelf, since my parents do not allow me to have a room, a large enough shelf to store them, or the money to get them. :p Thankfully, they got me a e-book. :p Now for the next bit... I think I fried that quite soon after (too many books? XD) I think I read quite well, except that I often end up dropping off and finding it quite hard to continue if it gets really bad/boring. As for my memory, it's got more holes than a sieve. :p

well, I think anyone would have trouble reading a book if it'd get boring or bad ;)

I once read a fantasy book called Skyggemaner (or Shadowmancer in English) that from the beginning was terribly bad. Maybe because of the perspective it was written from. I never really got past the first few chapters.

Ah. Remember the days when I decided to pick up the Wheel of Time series. I bet some of you here remember that series from a ways back. On the other note, I really haven't read a book I didn't like or dislike. More or less push through it :p

I had an awesome book series that I really liked growing up called "The Edge Chronicles". I loved those books so much! I might just pick them up and read them again... ^^

Read that, it's quite good, except I have no idea what order the series is in. :p

I've seen that series. :p I've been meaning to read it, but I was consistently told that it would ruin my view on Fantasy novels. :p So, I've not really read it, or have got around to it.

How about Darren Shan's the Demonata? It's labelled horror, but there's nothing gory, he just explains a lot of the gore, which is easy to deal with if you're nae a fookin' sassenach!

What's a sassenach?

And I've had a look, but it's not quite my kind of book. :p You know, despite being a bit childish, The Wishing Chair and Faraway tree series by Enid Blyton serve quite well as break material. :)

Well, all the deep stories have me tearing up. I suppose I might as well post mine.

Some of my earliest memories were of my father teaching me how to read. By the time I was in kindergarten, I could sort of read. In fact, I hardly remember a time when I wasn't able to sound out a word. I was put into first grade for a week, but I didn't like it. I don't think I even stayed.

From 1st-6th grade, I was the top of my class, honor roll, all that crap. I prided myself on my brainpower. Teacher's pet all the way, and since I never studied and played soccer (football for the rest of the world) all the time, I wasn't really unpopular or anything. In 7th grade, all my friends went to Prep, and I got a D in science.

My father is a nature photographer, so I have traveled more than anyone that I know. Taking months off of school wasn't unusual for me. Imagine visiting all the natural landmarks in the United States multiple times, or slogging through the horrible mud up in the Yukon. Good times.

We moved to the Philippines and I was popped into the second year or highschool. My grades were abysmal because the education system there hadn't changed since Spain tried to colonize the place. I didn't much mind, as I was the new kid, and a foreigner to boot. I was popular as spray cheese. I maintained this.

I found in my 3rd and 4th years of highschool that the girls are extremely conservative. Asking one of them out was like trying to ask out a nun, and I figure that it went about the same way. It probably didn't help that I was probably one of the only athiest's on the whole island, and that Christianity was so widespread that divorce was illegal and Mass was held in schools that were supposedly non-sectarian.

I graduated and decided not to immediately go to university. They were all bad anyway, and any degree that I received would be useless. I cut off all connections with my high school friends because I'm one of those cynical bastards who have no problems cutting off friendships.

So now I'm kind of just of just a lazy slob who works in the family business and plays minecraft, and has just about no social life. Luckily I found the forums after looking to play some modded minecraft, so here I am! I've always loved forums. I also found myself with ADD and mild depression. Whatever though, that's what caffeine and checklists are for.

Anyway, recently my father wants to shoot a documentary or something on whale sharks, which I'm not enthused about. Recently I'm not enthused about anything at all. I'm not quite apathetic, but I just don't care much for anything anymore.

And now we come to me sitting here, typing this when I'm supposed to be doing paperwork. G'day!

No. :p

Catapultum Habeo. Nisi percuniam mihi dabris, ad caput tuum ignis immane mittam. What about this for my sig? :3

Yeah, that's mugging.

I have a catapult (slingshot). If you do not give me all of your money, I will send a huge rock at your head.

At least, that's what you told me o_O

This is a bit off-topic. I once saw an airport sign, saying that you cannot board a plane with catapults or crosbows. Like if that wasn't obvious.

Well, since everybody is so open I share a bit of my story as well. I'm from the Netherlands what always was a great country to live in. I'm 24 years old, married and have a son (not from my wife).

When my brother was born when I was 3 it wasn't going that well with my mother, so I lived for the biggest part of my childhood with my grandparents. What was great fun by the way.
The relationship with my mother kept always troubling, to say it that way.
But I couldn't say my childhood was bad or something, I did good at school (no genius but good enough). Had a great hobby in a little local zoo who only works with volunteers. And I spend there 10 years of my life and made great friends there.

When I graduated from high school I switched schools a lot, couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I did great in ice-skating, very great, I hoped to make a living out of that. But my knees starting hurting very bad so I needed to quit before it became something serious. I started to study for facility management. End got a job in that sector, I loved it very much. I had in that time a relationship for about 4 years and we got a child. But the crisis came and struck hard in the Netherlands as well and I lost it after 5 years. No other jobs to be found. And my knees kept hurting, the same with my back and shoulders. I was diagnosed with rheumatics. (So that's why my knees hurt that much after ice-skating!) A kind that is not that bad but I can't work anymore and I need to make choices. If I play with my son, I can't go to the movies with my girlfriend, If I go to the gym, I need to go to bed afterwards and can't play minecraft ;-). But I can live with it and just had to adapt to it. I'm not that active on the forums, now you know why. I just read since typing can cause swollen hands if I do it to much, I rather cause it by playing a game. When my son was 1 my girlfriend decided she rather be with girls (yes I know, I must have done something horebly wrong) then with men. So I moved out. But I met a great girl and we are very happy now. Have a good friendship with the mother of my son and my wife and my son are great friends as well. As for work, I can't do what I studied for, so I make let's plays now on youtube and hope that will work out for me (no Minecraft since there are a lot of people who do it faster, better and can explain better then me)

But all and all I am a happy person, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, keep that in mind.
