Safe (No Vulgarity) Server Idea. Good or bad idea?

Back when I was on Morv's server (absolutely not vulgarity-free, a reason I am not on it anymore), the first epic build required a smokestack, which according to them was unobtainable.

Then assuming it is a Twilight Forest smoke stack (can you confirm the item ID in FTB?), they either disallowed access to the Twilight Forest, somehow removed lava swamps from the Twilight Forest, were misinformed, or lied to you.

The Twilight Forest block does that as well, I believe. See if you can confirm the item ID, ok?
For a long time I believed the only way to get stuff back from a block of say iron with hte compressor ingame was to macerate it. Most of my server did. Then one guy says over our vocom "just put it in the furnace" and everyone's jaw dropped in equal amazement. This was back in t****t with none of that NEI nonsense, to be fair to us.

I don't have MineCraft right now, but I will check when I get home what the item number is. I'll also take some screenshots of it to confirm.
Anyway, back to city ideas. Anyone got any ideas for a futuristic LotR style city? (LotR=Lord of the Rings) Like, key blocks, or important buildings for that culture? Color schemes?

Ok, Elvish it is, but is there a way to fit futuristic in there? Also, I haven't watched LotR for a while, could someone refresh me on Elvish style?
Add Neon? Maybe a halogram or two.
What steam punk instead.... Add brass and random gears.

Buddy, at this point you should be able to start doing the basics of getting the SERVER set up. Stop worrying about the stuff your community will make on said server. Start worrying about getting a server set up.

It is called Haven of Light. See the Haven in there? It really suggests LotR style. So elvish, a mountainous city? Everything attached to Mountains? It did seem a little bright. But I need help here.
Yup, that's it. I found out that it is breakable in this version. I cannot set it up until Friday. I have everything worked out, all I need to do is write what the server post will be. Describe the city style and things.

Sure, go for it. Just be prepared to find that what you want is not what everyone else wants, and be willing to make changes for the good of the community.
The point I was trying to make is that taking a style any style and adpating it to another one is fairly easy as it is usely the replacment and/or addtion of smaller elments. Not that I was suggesting the additonal ones.
So as my first suggestion would be taken. You would take the elvish style building shapes and add your futrure to it by adding lighting most likely the RP2 lights to give to a more updated feel. You could also replace wood/stone with other blocks like metals (useing RP2 Covers) to also add to the look or use the IC consturction foam.
That is what I was suggesting.

Sorry bout that, Lambert. Didn't know I was being sarcastic there. I thought they were suggesting a different theme, but as I see up in the newest responses, they were showing how easily I can switch to a different style. Also, Guswut, that post means Elven cities are hilly? How would I go about that? Hmm... *Goes off muttering to myself* Anymore ideas for key blocks? Blocks that make it elven, but somewhat futuristic on the side?

Find a biome that has hills.
