I get a horrible annoying redirect virus thing on any browser I use.
1. I google something
2. I see the search results
3. If I click on the blue links, the first time i click them they'll send me to some other crappy search results site. I immediately exit and click the link again, on the second time it'll send me to the right one.
4. If I copy the green text below the link and put that into my url thingy, it'll send me to the real site no problem. I've used kasperskys rootkit detector stuff, mcaffee, avg, everything. I think it's fake google or something because at the bottom when it's loading it says "connecting to 208.50.......
5. On some things like forums where the green text has sections in it, I cannot drag it to the address bar thing because it will instead send me to the section and not the thread.
6. Also I have net nanny from when my mom didn't realize that I was 14 and I've seen worse gore/porn/"adult/mature" humor videos or whatever else it flags, than she can imagine. I'm 16 now and i got an iPhone as my birthday present. Thankfully my parents were like, "youre 16 i guess well just trust u lols". Now I'm just waiting for the subscription to run out on my computer since I dont feel like asking them to cancel it and everything. You see, I could care less about porn. I can do that on my phone. This net nanny shit is just annoying because it's terrible programming ("just block as much as possible" brute force mentality) just like every other block program. I can't access painterly pack anymore because it blocks it as "adult/mature". I could ask my dad to unblock it, but it's too much work. This also happens with Team Fortress 2 and because of updates, it'll often go back to being blocked. Lastly, it blocks a ton of mods on MinecraftForums for "weapons" and blocks Battlefield for "weapons".
parental control programs are in my opinion worse than viruses. it's shit software sold to uneducated paranoid moms and makes a ton of money each year out of fear tactics. It doesn't actually do anything but make surfing the internet for okay things (like video games and guns and LGBT activism etc.) a huge pain. I can't even do research projects because a page might have the word cocaine in it when it's about addiction prevention. It doesn't actually do its job. It doesn't shield anyone from anything, so once someone knows one thing, whats the point? There are so many things it doesn't catch, like Imgur porn and a majority of Tumblr porn. It's like when people talk about making laws against 3D printing guns. People have the knowledge. You can not get rid of knowledge. Restrictions will always fail no matter what.
As for the first topic with my redirect stuff, I'd like some help maybe. I'm guessing KirinDave would know a bit about it.
