I get this, but having done this awhile for the RR group as it has grown, it got totally infeasible. When it was just one private conversation for AdvancingCraft, it was fine. As time went on and it grew past that, the burden on me got pretty huge.

And let's face it, this forum format we use right here is pretty antiquated compared to the Facebook & G+ group model, both of which are far more reliable and full of useful features to to a hand run forum. Heck, half the time when I app.y to one of these privately run forums I never get an email confirmation back. I've been waiting on Calclavia.net for months.

That was not a jab at your our your G+ group. I was refuring to this obsesion people have with Facebook that everyone wants to be on it or that every company wants to be the next Facebook.

I have really no large issues with socail media. Just with the obession some people seem to have with it. Hence the internet highschool comment. There seems to be this idea that if your not on Facebook or Linkedin or what ever the hot thing is today that you are some how not being socail or your out of touch with the times. People used to think that about Fido net, BBSes, and My Space. The point is you can be connected to people without these things. And sure they are useful (way I have a G+ in the frist place) but espcialy with Facebook they tend to get blown out of scale. Do people really want just one Socail Meida site to own everything Social on the web? Its like Google do you really want Google to own everything Sreach realted? No in the end you want other options or in some case you just want to opt out.

There is a whole another issue with my views on the depth of 'freinds' one collects via things like Facebook and G+. But no I have no issues with things like G+ groups and actually think G+ does there socail setup much nicer and less intrusive then Facebook does.

The only think I think google does well is google.com. I don't like what they've done to youtube, I have never liked Google chrome, Google+ is a hackjob attempt at social media (the thing with social media is that it has to be popular to survive, I don't think I know a single person that actively uses G+ as a social media site) I don't use Android (although I plan to in the future, but thats more because I want a different phone and not another iToy.)

No it has to be popular to make money. Socail media is a buisness these days becuase they sell you to advotizers and datamining groups. And to be profitable they need a lot of people and a lot of data sets. There are many socail media systems that still live on today that are less popular. Heck Fido net is still kicking around. Will G+ hang around in the long run ... most likely it will Google is known for having a lot of stuff out there that does not really make them any money. Look at Google Drive (used to be Google Docs). And they have a low tolerance for things they know will cost them to much money and kill them quickly (Google Wave).

And Android had one huge selling point for me. If I blow up my phone I can walk into any cell phone store buy an android phone (any android phone on any network anywhere) and log into my google account and Poof all my content is there. All my contacts and everything. Heck if the new phone supports apps I have paided for it can auto reinstall all of them.

Easy.
Lambert uses Opera.
I use both, by the way.
Opera is preety cool, but Chrome is also.
Also, most things in Google are just a matter of getting used to it. I don't like YouTube's layout, but I'd use it over Vimeo/Dailymotion anyday. GMail is too good, just - just too good. Android... I still have to get used to it, but I like it.

That is a fair concern. if someone wants to participate but doesn't want to share their Google identity, they can make new pseudonym accounts. Several folks have done this already.

Just to note on the name issue, I have multiple friends who have not been permitted to set up G+ accounts with their names. One of whom isn't even allowed to use the name that goes on correspondence with their lawyer and interactions with their employer. That process is still broken.

Hrm. I pulled out Extra Bees for now, and now I'm getting what looks like a block ID conflict between Forestry and GregTech. I'm using KirinDave's configs, so I'm not entirely sure how.

The version I pushed had a regression and that is a known problem I've been too busy to fix. Just reassign the forestry

Sure but I would still suggest a good scan. Since if you do have malware in chrome it might have its hooks in elsewhere.

cept I've had that happen on 3 pcs now. My old laptop, new laptop, and new pc. Unless the download itself is contaminated, I don't think it is malware.

I'm sorry Lambert I've installed chrome out the box and not have had that issue. So its malware or some setting you have on for some reason. But feel free to kept on bashing all things google. You can join up with them folks that bash Apple beucase its apple.

Go to your MultiMC settings, go to tab Java, and type in JVM Arguments:
-XX:MaxPermSize=128M
That should fix it.
