I have been playing Infinity, watching infinity, basically living Infinity since it came out, and I have noticed that it is only growing in popularity, and I know that is because it is that huge modpack with everything that everyone always loved, so I'd like to suggest adding the mod MineChem, I think it would fit snugly into FTB Infinity, and I love the whole Idea of the mod, Here are some reasons why:

1. It would be a new tech mod in the pack, everyone always loves a new mod that has content in it, and I know this because I am part of a few Infinity servers.

2. It would add another thing for people to do, everyone reaches that endgame stage at some point, but adding in this new mod would push that back a little bit, giving some extra playability in that world until you get bored.

3. People would take time to learn about this mod, It's nice to see people putting in the extra effort to look stuff up, or read the guide manual about the mod, and this would add a new branch of the game to look into.

Thank you for taking the time to read my request, and don't forget to choose if you want to see the mod in FTB Infinity in the Poll!

Have A Nice Day!

This won't happen. I believe that the only updates FTB Infinity gets now are bug fix updates. However you can add the mod yourself, unless you're playing on a server.

Infinity for 1.7.10 has been pretty much locked for a while now. Any suggestions about the pack at this point should be with 1.10.x in mind.

I voted "NO" for this very reason. Slowpoke said in live public streams that no active development is happening with 1.7 packs months ago.

I just went and voted YES after your post, simply because RealKC is right: I can add it to my pack whenever I like.

Granted its because of the wording of the poll.
"Would you like to see MineChem in Infinity" is different than "Should Minechem be officially added to Infinity"

Otherwise I'd say no, there's no real point (and the OP failed to make a strong argument for it that doesn't equally apply to any other tech mod)

If you add or remove mods to/from FTB Infinity, it is not FTB Infinity anymore. It's just a modpack you created using something else as a base.

Therefore the question, even in it's current form, is the same as asking "WOuld you like to see MineChem added to FTB Infinity"

Is FTB Infinity 1.10 a planned thing?

I can neither confirm nor deny...blah blah blah :)

It's been said a few times that Infinity is planned to move to 1.10.x, there will be an expert mode (which will hopefully be less able to be 'exploited' due to being able to actually plan for it) but that won't be for a few months after the initial release.

Hah, that's more or less reasonable I suppose :)

I could argue that I'd be playing "FTB Infinity with Minechem in it", but its amusingly valid logic regardless.

I agree with pyure. The op doesn't seem to give valid arguments.

1: while evidence, anecdotal evidence is not a truly strong form. Especially tied in with "i play on servers so I should know" mentality.

2: new mods do not necessarily mean people will use them. Poll many modded players about which mods they use and frequently you'll see the same mods used over and over. Examples include: TE,AE, ender io, tico. I could go on but my point is made.

3: I have two issues with this point. First, mods that add a lot of concepts (minechem and rotarycraft being prime examples) frequently fall to the wayside. It's hard to learn new mod mechanics. Especially so in the case of the two mods I mention that do require a bit of thought and math on how to either set up a system that works well or to formulate the chemicals to make what you want. And second, I would bet most people who don't delve deep into a mod's true depth aren't going to go deep into the book. Most people aren't even going to read my wall of text. Let alone several pages on how to properly use minechem or rotarycraft.

Tl;dr: I love minechem. But should it be in a mod pack meant for the masses? Probably not. I personally have added it to a couple of packs. And that's just fine.

This is true, I add mods to my favorite pack on my own all the time to try them out in a "familiar" setting. In fact some become perennial additions. But that is a far cry from petitioning the creator(s) of a pack to add a mod that may not even fit into the scheme of their original plan. I have no issue with people wanting to play GT, for example, but don't want it included in packs I play because of configuration issue that can occur when I remove/disable the mod. In addition, a lot of people have a hard enough time running larger packs without adding to the load.

If I want people to try my favorite set of mods then it's incumbent on me to provide a pack for them, not to try to convince FtB (or other creators) to add to their work. I can understand when a pack is brand new and the creators might ask for content suggestions but not after the pack has gone to maintenance mode.

Yep. As a clarification, this part in only fairly true specifically when a pack is no longer being explicitly worked on. Even then, there's no onus on either side to refrain from or refuse pack suggestions. This is frequently part of a development cycle and its the prerogative of the pack designer to circle back and re-open it for development if they really want to (rare)

True, and I suppose that, if nothing else it provides the pack creator(s) with ideas for the next iteration when the pack is rebuilt for a new vanilla version.

So, Do you think there is a chance that it could be Officially added in the Infinity 1.10.x version? (Whether it may or may not ever exist :p)

I'm not a pack builder myself, but I know from experience that the balancing issues that Minechem presents pack authors is a challenge in itself. I could however see it in a much more curated pack, perhaps one built around it.
