Got me buggered when that was changed it wasn't possible I am positive, but I just checked in my 1.2.5 world and it does work, I know it wasn't possible because I'd tried it several times earlier, I guess they must have been older versions and I just never tried again.

CPW has stated that it should be just a simple recompile while Slowpoke also surmised that there might be packs releasing Saturday.
so far optifine, steve's carts and Iron Chests have "official" updates denoflionsx has a jenkins built version of Buildcraft thats compatibe with 1.4.6 but thats all i have found (atleast that im interested in)
