Reminds me of Dynamic Sword Skills a bit, honestly. Largely in the sense that it uses Ocarina of Time style Z Targeting, in that you lock on to a target and can then circle around it or switch targets to something else. I've been using DSS and Battlegear 2 to help make combat a bit more variable to some success, though it's made it rather difficult to play without those two mods in that I absolutely despise vanilla combat, to the point that I've long considered just going Peaceful with one of those mods that allows you a method to get mob drops.

Well yah if the mobs were the ones doing the targeting. It's the pufferfish things that are targeting you like that.

You look but you do not read.
If you scroll down to the comment section he states.
"This is still alpha footage. The icons on the right are where categories from addons will be placed - I just added placeholder stuff for testing."
Thanks for that, but no need for the snark. I was wrong as well and I actively avoid comment sections due to the scum and villainy that normally reside there.

Since the comment was directed at me, I reserved the right to take offense. I'm familiar with NJM's sense of humour so I know he wasn't trying to be an ass.

Today the FTB community on Reddit made me sad. They don't even want to have a discussion. >.<
Considering I saw a comment saying "who honestly thinks modders should have that right? They are a tiny minority, their rights don't matter compared to the players"....

However, I am not in favor of the idea of monetizing mods, as it does punish most players. That said, things like donations, kickstarters, adfly, and the like, the only complaints I have ever seen levelled against them basically reduce to "I don't like how they are getting money, put an end to it".

Stuff like that really kills my motivation to mod. This community is so entitled. >.<

Please don't let it. You make wonderful mods and there are still lots of people here that do respect alla you modders for making the stuff that we're all here discussing and playing on a daily basis. You're awesome. Keep being awesome.

Also, I can't imagine Thaumcraft without Forbidden Magic these days.

For $25 or more said:
You will get access to a special DropBox folder where I will upload beta builds if and when they are available. These beta builds will usually be the same ones that are used on Forgecraft.
Though obviously the public release is still fully available, this would still fall under 'selling mods/modded content'
Donations with a tangible benefit/reward for the donor is trade- you are buying and selling; a [true] donation is a gift given without expecting returns.
The key difference here [and the reason I can't get behind full monetisation] is the decision to trade/donate is still at the user's discretion. However the issue itself isn't as clear cut as it first appears.

I did a bit of math, and came to the following results:
If a tenth of the modded Minecraft players* donated $5 to one of the 500 modders spending the most time on modding, each modder would statistically get $2000**. If that actually happened, there would be no need for AdFly's or sales.

* Estimating there are 2 million players. There are probably quite a few more than that.
** 2000000/10*5/500

Please correct me if there are any flaws with my calculation.

I have been tempted to just nuke my downloads several times.

Minecraft itself only costs a little over $25. Paying almost a 1/5 the price of the entire game a month is kinda bad.
Especially with out any sort of guarantee of quality or continuation.

You think the issues of mod dev vs mod player wrights is bad now toss money into the mix and this forum will burn.
