Yes, some people are. These people are not.
I really hope so. It makes me feel embarrassed of humankind.

Back on topic, let me find something stupid...

Maybe some of the "Modloader isn't dead!" talk. I remember this guy, he searched through all of posts and reported half of them because he was so pissed at me for a post I made :D (because he knew I was right, but couldn't stand it)
MO all this ModLoader is dead talk is premature! MANY mods never stepped from 1.6.2 to 1.6.4. Are you paying attention Jeb? Maybe they are just tired of updates being released before they were ready and decided to quit jumping through hoops to accommodate the early releases! When 1.7 is released (hopefully bug free - run the trial longer and tell the impatient users to cool it!!! Also release the date as a TARGET, include a definition of the word TARGET! If the TARGET isn't met release a new TARGET 2 weeks, a month, whatever later. DO NOT release the update before it's ready!) I'm hopeful the majority of the Mods I use that haven't updated will.

"X? That stupid game with shitty graphics that only little kids play? Seriously? That game sucks ass."

"Have you actually played the game?"

"No, I don't need to, I know it's shitty."

Now it can be any game. Every game is true.

Ok so about AtomicStryker's modpack permission thingy, it's not bad, really.

Copied:
1. At least one mod of the modpack needs to be of your own making. This is to stop the stream of modpack kiddies just cobbling random mods together, having no idea what they are doing. This can be substituted by an extra nice PM, a well-written PM, any sort of contribution by yourself to the MC community at large, or really anything else i deem sufficient.
It used to be "1. At least one mod of the modpack needs to be of your own making. This is to stop the stream of modpack kiddies just cobbling random mods together, having no idea what they are doing."

the original post was just the beginning... look at some of the forum posts by people who actually were trying to be serious.

this one is noteworthy:
Video games are really going downhill. When I was a kid, video games did what they do best: trying to imitate big-budget, small-brain hollywood movies.

Now there's all this "indie", "community content", and "sandbox"....

"User generated content" is just a politically-correct way of "giving the tools of production to the masses" - the definition of SOCIALISM!

And "sandbox" or "nonlinear" are just polite ways of saying "no Gods, no masters", an anarchist slogan. They're setting up a generation to become socialist anarchists!

Game developers create worlds, comparable to how God created The World. Kids who grow up in virtual worlds will learn based on virtual reality, not God's reality.

God created a world were people need to be told what to do, and be given just enough power to do what they are told and no more. God created a world with boundaries, where you must follow a straight and narrow path. Video games should reflect this.

I get the reason, but the way he tried to stop it before is silly. The PM where you show what the pack is like and why you're doing it, etc, is much better.

This is from one of those YouTubers that scream and over react to things but still get millions of subs(these are from his hardcore bnb series) "this tinkers hammer is OP" (with a full copper unmodified hammer)
"These berry smoothies are OP" "this long sword is OP" I could go on but you get the point calling very basic things that we probably all use without thinking twice about OP

Eh.

OP is either unreal or entirely opinion, depending on the person.

(warning this post contains dangerous amounts of meta!)

Well one time people were being elitist about game mods but I don't remember when.

No wait, I do! It's this very thread! Other communities would condemn this!

There was also some crazy mod author who removed all the cool features from his mod for 'balance', completely overlooking that the basic concept of the mod was the problem.

Corrected that for you, many a mod has suffered this.
