Is below the correct setup to recapture the low pressure ammonia? Because I'm still getting loss of about 0.1 buckets per second.

Steam lines at over 2500m^3 and still pressurizing, will they ever stop? Because a closed system is impossible if the lines just keep holding more and more.

EDIT: apologies for the multiple pics, kept saying failed, all the same photo
You only need the ones below the back.

The steam lines are just building pressure higher and higher, 3500 now.

Tried the grates to decrease this but isn't doing anything so can't get the ammonia back out and into the pressurizers.

Right ok, temporary solution will be more grates straight into condensers.

Am I right in thinking a steam grate at max will run a regular turbine at max? Once stabilised I can plan how many turbines I'll need.

And how many regular turbines equals an HP turbine? Don't wanna build another one and not have enough steam

8 or so.

Hahahaha, With 8 grates I've got a slight decrease in steam... Ugh, decisions decisions, 8 regular turbines for fine control or a big one.

Still getting some loss though, need 8 speed upgrades on the transfer node still. Are the reservoirs supposed to catch everything?

Could be related to dodgy things I've been seeing, sometimes Rotarycraft machines will swap into other machines when placing(eg pressuriser into turbine) will crash if right clicked, to fix just break and replace.
Are your mod versions up to date? I had this issue with v24*, but I can't recall having it happen with v25+.

Fortunately I made a backup seconds before starting the reactor for safety... However serves me right for just glancing at a pic on imgur and building the thing. Swapped the boilers and Irradiation Chambers:/

Unfortunately I was standing on top of the reactor and crashed so never got to see the results of my idiocy.

Onwards and Upwards!!!

I wish there was an implementation of a meltdown that didn't strongly encourage players to do backups. I'd prefer to learn from my mistakes in-game rather than out-of-game.

I don't know of anyone (except Reika possibly) who would just live with the consequences of a meltdown.

I'm testing in world as I go because I can't be arsed to build it all twice(thrice etc etc), took me over 10 goes to get my Ammonia HP Turbine running and it's still not 100%. However I've already made a decision that if it goes bang in future because I knocked a pipe off or something equally stupid I'd play on. Also gives me a nice challenge to try and protect my base from the blast as much as possible.

Reika, back to the closed loop Ammonia problem. I turned on particles and noticed that some are hitting the generator, I'm presuming this is where the Ammonia loss is occurring and you may want to look at that.

The blast is not a true explosion, and does not destroy anything but the lines and boilers. That said, a cooling loss means a meltdown.

Particles are visual only.

Do it in a MystCraft age and your only cost is materials.

Then I'm out of ideas as to where the ammonia is going, steam lines dropping in pressure, all fluid lines full, reservoirs under turbine as instructed and still I need a creative ammonia reservoir with a transfer node and 16 speed upgrades.

Is a meltdown a 'normal' explosion ie:can it be contained or am I wasting my time?

Can the fallout be contained if the reactor is in a sealed room?

Any recommendations for non-melty blocks for next to the Hot-Sodium pipes?

And why did my fluid export busses from extra cells feeding Deuterium into the Irradiation Chambers melt? Can I use Gas Ducts for this?
