Well that sucks, thanks for the info and the testing.
Whats the best way to power a quarry then?
And a not so expensive way I might add :D

I tested some more. I tried some Ender IO energy conduits and three electric engines with solar panels power it just fine. The conduits are a involved process to make. Not to heavy on the resources though. If I remember right.

Early game, you could hook it up to a coal-powered generator of any sort (e.g. ExU furnace generator) and feed it with coal from the quarry, but you'd probably need a decent amount to kick-start it. Furnace generators are pretty cheap to make, and ExU sorting pipes or pneumatic servos for itemducts are cheap to make as well. If you're using BC pipes to pull items out, you're going to need diamond pipe which is a bit more expensive.

If you have a lava pump in the nether, you could fill up a few drums and feed it into lava generators or magmatic dynamos as an alternative. Lava generators are cheaper to make than the dynamos, and produce the same amount (in monster at least).

I dont see any info on a Lava Pump?
is this just a regular pump sucking up lava ?

And the Lava Geberator doesnt seem to power the quarry (RF to MJ) ?

You can use either Buildcraft's pump or the Enderthermic pump from Extra Utilities. And yes, you do need a piece of energy conduit from either Ender IO or thermal expansion, which will autoconvert RF to MJ

I hooked the Lava Generator up to an electric engine via leadstone energy conduit and the energy just drained ferom the generator and didnt power the engine.

I just cant win lol

Hook it directly onto the Quarry with the conduit. It doesn't need to go via the engine

Anything that can extract fluid, so BC waterproof pipes, TE fluiducts (needs a redstone signal/pneumatic servo), ExU liquid transfer nodes or Ender IO fluid conduits - they're a bit tricky since the basic ones can't go against gravity

For some reason I am having a hard time trying to get the lava out of the lava drum into the lava generator.
What do I need to do to have it transfer from the drum to the generator automatically>?

For Buildcraft waterproof pipes: Place a wooden waterproof pipe onto the lava drum - this should extract the lava from it. Use other waterproof pipes of your choosing to carry it from there to the generators.

For Thermal expansion fluiducts: connect the drum to the generators with fluiducts. Then, use a wrench to right-click on the connection onto the drum until it displays a dull red arrow pointing away from the drum. Apply a redstone signal and the red arrow should light up and lava will begin to flow from the drum.

For Ender IO fluid conduits: connect the drum to the generators using conduits. If you're not using the pressurised conduits, make sure that the flow is never travelling upwards. Then, right click on the connection onto the lava drum (the wide square bit). This should bring up a GUI. Select extraction mode, and then either set it to not require a redstone signal or apply a redstone signal. Lava should flow from the drum to the generators.

For Extra Utilities transfer pipes: Place a fluid transfer node onto the drum, and run transfer pipe from there to the generators.

Don't know which method you're using, so I've covered them all :p If someone knows more than I do (especially with regards to Buildcraft and Extra utilities) then feel free to correct me

Its funny how eager people are to help a noob. I call this the direwolf effect. We watched him do this stuff so many times, now we get to do it too. I have shown my mom how to play modded minecraft. Moms are the ultimate noob when it comes to videogames.

I think people just like to help others. Kind of makes them to feel good. Kind of like a job well done.

@OP
Might try watching direwolf20s current season on youtube. He also does mod showcases to show off the different mods. He may be using a different modpack. Yet there are some similarities.

might also be worth looking up users of the monster pack on youtube to watch their videos.

this is a great site for looking up info on mods in the modpack you are currently using. It doesn't usually have the info. It does link to it lots of times though.
