That's... odd. I suppose you're to get it in the nether then.It is actually.
Bedrock is 1-4 (my co'ords standing on them are 2-5 I believe). Flat bedrock just makes the bedrock layer smooth.
I'd suggest to go 1 layer over the bedrock. I think diamonds are more frequent deeper even if you have to navigate carfully because of lava lakes.
It actually makes sense to find diamonds rather close to lava, since it takes pretty extreme pressure and heat for them to form.I'd suggest to go 1 layer over the bedrock. I think diamonds are more frequent deeper even if you have to navigate carfully because of lava lakes.
Another question:
What happens when the Quarry hits bedrock?
Obviously it stops mining, but what happens to my Electric (solar powered) engines?
Do they continue to run?
Can they blow up?

Note that they are now called Kinesis Pipes, not Conductives anymore. Not quite sure energy conduits will work in this case, but I think they will.
If not, conductive pipes. One wood one connects to each engine, then connect them all together and to the quarry with other pipe types. Waila/nei will tell you how much energy each type of conductive pipe carries.

Thanks that was exactly what I was looking for.
I don't get the credit 'cause I used the old name. *sniff* *sniff* *floods a village with Pythorium*
Hurray! Time to celebrate!Sorry, you are right.
Thanks to you as well.
That's exactly why I made this comment. Diamonds in monster are rarer on layer 11 that they are under the layer 8. You need to go deeper in monster. It makes sense but is a Minecraft myth I'm afraid.. Finding lava does not guarantee increased diamond spawns, diamond just happens to spawn around the level of the lava lakes. Diamond veins are up to 15 as far as I'm aware, I mine at 11 because it's one above lava lake gen(prevents nasty surprises).
