Have you tried installing optifine? I used to get renderer crashes a lot until I started using that.
But I fear that your inventory must be cleared to fix this otherwise (I take it there's no easy way to remove one single inventory item out of a players data file ?)

Have you tried scrolling like crazy while logging in so perhaps it at least is able to send one message causing the map to not be your currently selected item

Yeah i figured it out late last night, I don't think everyone knows though, considering there were only 3 people on...
The sooner we get the forums up, the better. I believe it will help solve offline problems. (Where you cannot log in and ask for help)

Mid air jetpack logout must cause this, only fix is player data change if not erase.

have you updated mindcrack? in that case the server hasn't updated so you have to use 8.0.1
