So I've been dabbling in actual building in MC instead of just a 9x9 so I want to know what you guys think. I would love to hear your opinions on what I can do to make it better. So far I have the bottom done. The carpet is made of light blue wool and it's not done yet. I would love to know if there's anything I can do around the base to make it look better all around. Also, what do you guys think for a roof?

curves are nice. I use this http://donatstudios.com/PixelCircleGenerator to assist in making them for my builds.
Form and Function do not always fit well in MC.
Personally I like things to look nice more then things being super compact or effenct.
But to each their own. I do belive cuasing yourself to have to work with odd builds over all makes you better at building then if you just stuck to the easy and strightforward builds.
Its is kind of like art. If you just copy and trace all the time you get good only at doing the same thing. But if you expariment and explore you get good at the more odd and out of the box things. One is route learning the other is actual skill building.

My little domain...underground basement ( not shown on picture ) have all the machinery. Garden have golems workers gathering stuff for me sending all the goods underground to be refined or recycled. Water pump station, blaze farm , slime farm, bees and more to come.

So I've been working on the base a lot. I got a nuclear reactor set up and I finished my house. It looks awful and I would love some opinions on it. Right now I'm typing from my phone so I can't post pictures. Also, what is the best engine to run a quarry?
depends on what you have available. If you have a fuckton of lava: magmatics. If you have a huge treefarm, bioengines. If you have a very well established IC2 line, Electrical Engines.

Alright. Well here are the pics of my current world. The quarry isn't set up yet since i'm out of diamonds. I'm having some problems with my turtle so I'll have to mine the diamonds manually. So far my house is pretty bad. Very bland.
There a lot of pictures and they're all self explanatory. Any suggestions for the house? For those of you who are wondering. The reactor is putting out 100eu/t and is powering a mass fab,recycler,3 of the advanced machines and a couple basic machines.

It's nothing amazing, but definitely better than a 9x9 
Keep experimenting and I'm sure you'll find the perfect combination of function and style.
Personally, I make an extremely aesthetic-based building with basic machines and storage, and anything bulky or ugly (like the GT multi blocks) go in a basement until I can make them a nice-looking room of their own

I plan on building a nice village type thing. So far I have my main house and a power plant. Pretty basic solar panel setup and a nuclear reactor. Sadly, i'm using more power then i'm generating so I have to sort that out. My goal for this world is to pretty much utilize every mod. I started with IC2 and have slowly moved into GT and TC. and a little bit of CC. But it's mostly IC2. Also, how does this sound, I'll have different buildings for different storage areas. I'm gonna have a cow shaped building for all meats and and food. What would be a good building for storing wood? I don't wanna do a tree because i'm gonna have a "Tech Tree" for my future TE machines.
