Yeah, I'd love to see some mechanical computing, but that's likely a bit much to ask. If I want something like that I'll likely need to learn to mod myself.

Yeah, I kind of have dreams of a mechanical adding machine based sorage/sorting mechanism. Think of a real old cash register, that'll pull items out of connected inventories. Obviously that's not what the actual machines tended to do, but there really isn't much use in Mc for calculators. There really wouldn't be much difference from other sorting methods save for graphics and audio. Some of the old mechanical computers are works of art,There is still vanilla piston/redstone logic, although it is anything but compact.
I really want a curta "math grenade" but It's a bit of an expensive piece of desk bling....... far more reasonable than some devices like those posted above though.Nice old gear pics.
My mother was a key punch operator for a while after the second World War. Those old IBM accounting machines were definitely not aesthetically pleasing, hehe. Later, she ran an antique shop and used a cash register every day that was very much like the one you posted here.
Some kind of crank-operated or steam-operated multiblock sorter might be pretty cool, if you could see the items passing through it like with BC or Mek pipes. Maybe Flaxbeard will get around to item piping and sorting.
getting together a public steampunk modpack. available for download now if yall want to check it out. still mods to add but going pretty good so far. http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/steampunkd.491350
Iv'e tried getting tinkers steelworks but it isnt updated high enough for the rest of the mods. not in the 1.7s which is needed for flaxbeards wondrous steampower which is a big one. Ill try that automagy out. thnx. still in process of adding mods and stuff but decided to make it downloadable anyway. i kinda just liked the idea of steel industries so i added it. wasnt really thinking of it going with tinkers construct at the time. It's a nice list so far. I haven't played with it yet, but Automagy for thaumcraft looks like it should fit right in with the contraption aspect of Steampunk.
Steel Industries looks more or less like it is a way to get steel into the pack for tinkerer's construct tools. Out of curiosity, what is the reason for not using Tinkerer's Steelworks? Is it the ore tripling, or the fact that the high oven can be used to make steam, or something else?
I will try and download this sometime this week and play with it.

Have you looked at Archimedes' Ships? @Gideonseymour is quite fond of that one Kappaalso looking for a better airship mod or hot air balloon possibly.
>Thaumcraft 4 wikiHere is a list of various Thaumcraft add-ons. I wasn't familiar with all of them, and not all of them are updated to 1.7, but it has some that might flesh-out the thaumcraft side of things.
http://thaumcraft-4.wikia.com/wiki/Add-ons - I'm sorry if this isn't the FTB wiki, but it was at the top of the Google results when searching for Thaumcraft Addons.
Or you could suggest it on the suggestion threadI'm going through a mod spotlight on Flaxbeard's to see if there is anything on the steam tech side that is missing and see if I can find a mod to fill it.
Yeah. Ive seen it. It just seemed a little simple for steampunk. was hoping for something wirth a little more to it. or to have an actual more steampunky feel. if i cant find anything else ill use itHave you looked at Archimedes' Ships? @Gideonseymour is quite fond of that one Kappa
