What modpack are you using?
Have you played with putting a portal frame and chunk loader on the machine, for quick access after it has wander along way off? I put them on my machine and the chunk loader works fine but the portal spawner always breaks when I leave the world. It works fine as long as I stay in the world but when I leave the portal spawner breaks and I have to fly hundreds of blocks to get back to the machine.

I am using the Ultimate modpack. I haven't yet tried doing the portal spawner, but if I ever need to find the miner i can just follow its path of destruction. Let me try with the portal spawner now.

I had my portal spawner break on frames one time - it happened when I left/reloaded the world while the frame machine was still running. After that I used wireless redstone to add a shutoff switch in my main base. I now shut the machine off every time I leave the world, and I haven't had any issues since then. So maybe that would work for you as well?

That world does not have a function mining machine. It has no caterpillar drive and it doesn't have the portal spawner on the machine. I don't have the time to rebuild the machine to test. I've already got two machines that don't work. I would like to see one built by someone else that actually works.

Hmm... Toyed with it a bit. The router keeps pulling the mining wells out of the deployers. Have you found a solution for that yet? I couldn't replicate my problem using your machine because FTB Ultimate doesn't run very well on my machine. It takes too much RAM and my poor old machine can't handle it. I actually have the wireless receiver right next to the portal spawner. Maybe I'll try moving it off a bit and see if that helps.

I did fix it earlier, but it seems to be broken again. When I replicate it into my survival world I'll see if I can fix it.
