When I think of low tech mods, I think of wooden gears, water mills, using cows for power, that kind of thing. I'd be really interested in something like that. I suppose that was the massive love for Red Power. Yes it had computers but in a real way it was very mechanical. You had blocks that enabled Rube Goldberg type machines. There is still that flavor now, but more mods are into multi function single blocks (which is fine, no flaming here).

I personally have been very interested in the Life in the Woods modpack. I was even considering just adding Tinker's Construct to it and giving that a go. I'm honestly tired of tech mods. You end up playing through the mod and not really playing Minecraft. IMO.

Gregtech with it's bronze age.

Though the main problem with mods adding low tier tech is that they do not cover progression the right way.

Resonant Induction looks awesome, but a bit too complete to patch into a modpack built around IC2, Iguana's Tweaks and Railcraft...

Ofc I have and it would be great as a low tech.. tech mod if you could disable the other 95% of the mod.
He said he wanted a mod that added low tech so he could progress up. Gregtech adds a ton of progression and it ties into other mods and most of the game you are doing what is considered low tech in other mods. *Scrubbed*

Thanks, I'll play GregTech tomorrow, it seems pretty large from what I hear but now that I know that it works well with other mods I feel I should give it a chance.

I tried out Steve's Carts, And it's AMAZING! Mid Game AND Late game items with some amazing complexity. AND it works well with RailCraft! I love it!

Also, I've decided to use Forestry and Mariculture for my early game stuffs. But I'm still open to more ideas.

I am attracted to steves carts more as an extension of vanilla railroads, than as a tech mod. Still, the truth is, I don't know all it can do yet.

I haven't really played around with Steve's Carts, how do they function well with Railcraft?

The best part about GT's bronze age is that it means you don't have to go into the higher tech stuff if you don't want to. It's grindy later, but once you realize you don't NEED the grindy parts, it's much more enjoyable.

Steve's Carts interacts pretty well with Railcraft. Especially since you'll need lots of track and Railcraft gets you a better method to get lots of track. Between those three mods, you can run your world on steam power and not have anything missing.

I could quite easily challenge that "not have anything missing".

Just remember anything that exists solely to advance the progression of the mod to give you more materials to make more efficient use of the materials you gathered, is probably sufficiently advanced technologically as to fall outside the theme of the mod.

Other than that, challenge away.

The only low tech mod I can think of is Better Than Wolves, and that will never be put in an FTB Pack.

So true. In fact, my modpack is actually inspired by that, TerraFirmaCraft and Magic Farm 2 (It's a bit like Blood n Bones, but I made a bulk of my pack's early game before learning much about it)
