Logistics Pipes Vs. Applied Energistics

I tried that when I first got into ME, but once my power system got stable, i just put everything away. 2 days later, I run out of helium plasma and I'm stuck again.

Yeah which kind of defeats the idea of having a emgerncy kit. Never put it away that is sort of the point of an emgerncy kit.

Well, the expansion of AE is also pretty simple. Having access terminals throughout your base is also amazingly convenient. I have a multi-leveled base (I think 5-6 floors in a certain part). AE saves me a lot of running around.

However, for larger bases it takes a lot of ME cabling, whereas you can just use request pipes and regular BC pipes to link your base with LP.

Meh, both achieve the same thing, I am just more of a "computer" guy. I also have limited space in my base 4 all dis shit.

The cost is quite cheap, honestly.

If you already have AE, is LP only good for creating remote access via enderchest & interdimensional AE networking? What other things can you do with LP that AE cannot do?

Chassis are incredibly powerful I must say.

I haven't tried the "new" logistics pipes, only used them back in the 1.2.5 days, so this might have changed everything. However, what I don't like about AE is, that it seems to be designed for one huge industrial complex, requiring the constant and sizable amount of power that you'll probably only have in you main base powered by boilers. I like to build lots of smaller, mostly independent sites. Plus it looks just boring, you don't see items zipping around in the pipes to get crafted, smelted, dumped in chests and whatever else. Might be good for servers and fps, but I prefer builds that actually look like they are doing something, not some sterile block that does the magic.

So I'm excited to try out the new pipes and hope they can still support my preferred build style.

rv12 adds Quantum networks. You get download it here: ae-mod.info/Dev/

You can automate the placement of QE Singularities. So it's possible to make a dial-up system like Enhanced Portals 2.

Plus Block Breakers, (planned) deployers, "better version of glass viewers", and (planned) teleportation system.

Combine the tele system with QNetworks and you get portal functionality.

I really enjoy logistics pipes. It adds a layer of work that you have to do that I quite enjoy. AE will never have something like that.

I don't think rv12 is 1.4.7 compatible =(.

With logistics pipes I can achieve this functionality, without having to upgrade.

AE balances itself with arguably higher cost and multiblocks. In a nutshell:

LP - Spend time crafting more components.

AE - Spend more time getting resources.

I thought that you couldn't interface with a vanilla chest? LP can? Whoa, this changes.... everything.

I can't get it to work in my current experiments. The problem is that I deleted the world I had it going in because of the GT debacle. It will probably be days before I figure it out again, since I was running a self-made RR pack with a healthy dose of other mods I felt like throwing in there. I honestly didn't realize it was that big of a deal until literally yesterday.

Yeah, I want a loot bag unpacker, problem is that those only generate loot if they're in your inventory and you can't unpack 'em before.

So, I wanna build a system with two vanilla enderchests and ender packs that'll drag the loot bags trough my inventory before I unpack them with a turtle.

I also want auto-pocket-trashcan quite desperately.

So yeah, vanilla enderchest interaction, I WANTS IT PRECIOUS.

One could do the same with EUtils BUD switch and a mod ender chest
Dartcraft enderpacks don't connect to enderstorage enderchests.

Why do I wanna use those? Because I can set what they put into my inventory/suck out of it with item cards.

Whatever, just no, I'm not an Idiot, I know about enderstorage endeeerrpaacks and I know how to use the bloody mods, and whatever, but I wanna use that for a very specific reason and I don't care for the alternatives. So please don't offer any to me.
