Loving, and sometimes hating this pack but mostly love:) So I updated from 1.2.8 (1.3) to 1.3.1 and now I can't load my old save. Had to downgrade to keep playing. Am I missing something, or do you need to start over if you update?

If the old save won't work you can try to start up a new 1.3.1 world and then use MCEdit to place your old world into the new one.

Or... you could update your 1.2.8 world one update at a time.

i got it to update to 1.3.1 kinda (I still had the problem but it stilled changed the number and I think the worlds) but now my 1.2.6 world won't work, it just goes to the loading world screen and stops there even though it's still running

Where can I get the 1.3.1 server? Getting the 1.3.1 pack was easy enough to just switch the number in the 404'd link, but I'm not sure about the server itself. Could I just extract the pack over my old server, or would that horribly ruin everything? (Not that it matters, backups and all, but I'd rather not ruin everything if correct/simpler methods are available)


Edit: I was taking the complicated route. Discovered the little dropdown to change version numbers. Nevermind this post.

Edit 2.0: Any tips on updating the server would be appreciated. Not entirely sure what all needs to be replaced, and what will break stuff if I do replace it. Is the mods folder the only thing that needs to be updated?

That is definitely a good thing to follow, and as always be sure you make backups of everything!

For that exact same reason I made some galgadorian metal fairly early on, it was before I started Steve's Carts, check it out here!

I technically have been using 1.3.0 but it displays and as far as I can tell acts like 1.2.8 (including maps for it) so yeah...

I also updated to 1.3.1 and can not load my original save from 1.2.5. It gets to the loading screen but gets stuck at trying to load dimension 1. I tried loading the world from 1.3.1 even though it says it's still 1.2.8 but the file name is 1.3.1. I get the same error that a mariculture arrow head is missing. However if i load anyways the 1.3.1 save will open. If i use mcedit to bring the world over how do i get the progress for doing quests and research over? When you say upgrade one at a time do you mean loading minecraft with one mod at a time?

After upgrading i had the loading issue as well, it seems to be caused by the HQM save. After deleting it I no longer had the loading issue. Haven't found a way to carry over the quests progression, probably have to cheat it.

Crash report seems to indicate it's an issue cause by HQM as well, might be the same issue as in single player.

A little of both, but after updating myself I see you mean that the world is named 1.2.8 even though it says it is 1.3.1?

EDIT:
and after updating to 1.3.1 with a fresh world (so I can MCEdit my old world into it) I can see why so many people want the old starter bunker... >.>;

Ok, so me and a few other people are having issues where the modpack is breaking recipes, e.g. there is no way to fill the camelbak; and drinking water does not increase hydration. I've tried re-downloading the pack (3 times for 1.3.1 and even tried it on 1.3.0). pls halp.

READ THE QUESTS YOU HAVE EVERY SINGLE THING EXPLAINED THERE!!! If you didn't get to it look at a golden lamp in the getting started quest line and go for it, there are other quests as well that will help you but you will have to READ THEM!
