I've done the same myself, as I use Misa's texture pack as my base, so I adapted the XY blocks to suit. They look better, but it's still difficult to make them look really nice. http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/attachments/xy1-jpg.1073/

...But I love the Engineering Bricks... And everything has glow maps and does cool things. But damn, that's a bit too much red, like I said. Add a slash of blue in there for the color wheel to smile upon you.

BEHOLD MY EU ROOM. I apologize if the color is a bit... overpowering. Interior design was never my strong suit.

To be serious, I dont like Xycraft stuff at all. Engineering brocks are the best out of all but the blocks dont "fit" into minecraft, even without the usage of a special texturepack.

I agree. I can't wait to see what the more mature Xycraft involves!
As for the textures - I agree that they don't fit into the typical Minecraft style. But I'd say that's a good thing! If you ask me, Minecraft should lend itself to all sorts of building/decorating styles. Xycraft is pushing for an expansion of what's possible. It may doing so in a somewhat whacky way, but at least it's doing it!

That's sort of what I did, except I used basalt pavers instead of obsidian, with silver accents. A LP boiler sunk into one of the walls. It was beautiful.
I then went into creative to check my wiring, and accidentally middle clicked a wireless transmitter. Aaaannnd my save is now broken. I hope I can recover it. Oh well, I guess it's time to start a new world anyway. I'll probably update to 1.5 and weep at the loss of my redpower stuff.

Sure, but it was nice if the author wasn't such a huge fan of glowy stuff. It's SO damn ugly!

The only thing I consider useful is the fabricator, this thing is awesome. Everything else is just astetic and doesnt please me. XyCraft Soil is producing lags if you are working with huge amounts, XyCraft Tanks are stolen from railcraft and made cheaper in my eyes so I wont use em.
