Always wanted a giant building for the sake of a giant building. Just not exactly space efficient to do so. That said, it's still a good idea, but one can make do with a smaller one if you don't mind it being compact.
I only build outside so no walls no ceilings just grass floors and a few glass roofs for gta machines since they don't like rain good old Greg I'm so bad at building I can't bare to look at my own stuff anymore but since I don't really have any fixed buildings I have 0 floors

While I haven't done it, but you know you can disable that explosion by rain right?[DOUBLEPOST=1398831297][/DOUBLEPOST]I found this nice little forest island that I completely leveled for my base. Took the better part to level it. Now things are coming along nicely.
So, I just finished my base, and here's a few details. The walls are 6 blocks thick, with 3 layers of Reinforced Stone, 1 layer of Obsidian, 1 layer of Reinforced Concrete, and the internal layer of Greatwood Planks. There are 3 stories, each one being 10 blocks tall, and each story is 64x64.
Now, for some pics:
This is the base from the outside, and there are so many ores and stone everywhere due to meteor showers.
The entrance to the base!
The corridor that leads to the base, which beautifully showcases the 6 layers of protection.
The first floor! (Note that the second and third floors look exactly the same at the moment, so I'll skip to the roof.)

And finally, the roof.
Thoughts?[/quote]
Planning on having a nuke dropped on your bunker of a base any time soon?

More textures? How would I do that? And also, keep in mind this is the base without anything in it yet. So I'm gonna build a library, a BM Altar, etc. So yeah.
The chandeliers are because I was too lazy to place them bit by bit so I used RotaryCraft's World Edit tool to mass place them.
With all that Reinforced Stone I doubt it's gonna do much.

A. That's why I asked.
B. He's asking if you could mix up the blocks a little ;P
This quote mess is awful, shame on whoever started it!
Also, @dalekslayer96 break up the box a little bit. Make it a little more interesting to look at by adding shape, color, and texture features. Use different blocks, different shapes, etc.

But I have an obsession with symmetry/perfection. So if I add bits and blobs I find it a bit messy. Anyways, I'm going to add an extension for my Witchery garden, so it'll look slightly more interesting later.

You reeeeaaaally like them chandeliers don't you?
For a real library feel i think it has too much unused space. Plus the look of the book cases in that quantity.. meh, too repetitive for my taste. But it does have a sort of epic feel to it

Should I add more variety of bookcases? I do have Natura and Bibliocraft. And I'm using so many chandeliers because they prevent mob spawning and are pretty powerful light sources. Plus, they look cool.
This isn't a bad reason to necro a thread by the way, you are adding something to your own thread in fairness. If you want to though, you might consider posting future updates in this thread at the community showcase where people often share and comment on base designs. You will get a wider audience too.
Also, the magnum torch also prevents mob spawns regardless of light level, similar to the chandelier but across a much wider area. Do you have chisel also. That mod adds some lovely bookcases. Some even have connected textures.
