Okay, so, I updated the launcher to 1.2.9 and successfully downloaded the Horizons modpack. However, when I attempt to launch the game, it doesn't do anything and leaves the following in the console:
Logging in...

Horizons
Modpack is up to date.
dirs mk'd
debug: retaining modpack file: C:\Users\Six\AppData\Roaming\ftblauncher\ModPacks\Horizons\Horizons.zip
Or this when I set the console to debug:

That's as close to a bug report as I can come up with, unless it dumped one somewhere and never told me.

I tried re-downloading the pack twice and it still isn't working, and I have no idea what is wrong. Halp?

Wait longer. It takes a while to download as the servers are a bit overloaded. There is no error here.

Heyo. I am getting this error as well. I have followed the instruction listed above, and it has been doing this all night and this morning. Any tips?

I also wiped both directories a second time and it seems to be working now.
I wonder if something wrong got into the download mix for some period of time?

(edited to add)

Looks like something did go wrong for a while. I looked back at my renamed Desktop/FtB folder and found the commons-lang3-3.1.jar (7:42 EST) was 192K, while the same file in a second download (9:49 EST) is 309K with the same version number.

When I try to run the earlier download JVM says it is corrupt. I had actually done a total of 3 wipe and downloads, so whatever it was must have been going wrong for a while.

People, if you are getting the error:
"dirs mk'd
debug: retaining modpack file: "PATH""

Then just listen to what Jaded said "Wait longer. It takes a while to download as the servers are a bit overloaded. There is no error here." I was having the error listed above, so I left my launcher running, went to my kitchen, got some tea, came back up, and Horizons was open.

NOTE: It may take a little longer for some people.
